I have a pretty bad feeling about this. Knowing how Fragger can dominate some games, this one really scares me.
“Wait and see”, heh.

Not scared of him being introduced as far as normal gameplay goes. Quite slow with a lot of health. I wouldn’t be shocked if the EV leaves him behind when enough people are next to it
The only thing that might be scary is if HE gets in the EV turret lol. Gotta 2 shot him as a sniper means he can mow down that sniper first.
EDIT: Giving him shotguns as a primary must be a joke by the devs… lol Soooooo slow.
minigun plus healing station = much win.
Can’t play without a medic, but will hold down close quarter chokes like a beast.

This is actually the only thing that keeps me a bit from worrying, though I really don’t know what is minigun is capable. I hope it’s not a 170dps insanity that will mow you down across trainyard.
People have been asking for him for quite some time now. Anyone here excited? I know you’re worried about having another “heavy” in the mix but let’s see how it pans out

I think that fragger will still outdo him in every way. The biggest problem rhino has with the role he is filling is that he required direct LOS where Nader and Fragger don’t(Probably why has has more HP). Keeping him alive will be a chore(as far as during combat goes) because his speed will prevent him from rapidly falling back to a healing station, cover, etc.
Meanwhile fragger can bounce a cooked nade around a corner, destroying a healing station and softening/killing the mercs by it and then charging around with an LMG to kill/finish the lot of them.
I have no issue with another heavy joining.
looking forward to it actually. I hope he does dethrone Fragger, but I just don’t see it happening atm. Will need to play against it to get a good idea.

I hope not. I think Fragger sits at a pretty good spot as far as speed vs tankiness goes, but Rhino takes it a bit too far for my taste… If Rhino replaces Fragger in the meta, that would be a tragedy in my view.
In fact I’d rather not see any Rhinos in competitive play, except maybe for special situations (temporary chokeholds). With only five players, I don’t really like the idea of one of the spots being filled by a super slow tank that everything revolves around.
I have no concerns about Rhinos on publics though.
I just hope he won’t be the kind of character that will lock down the game by himself, like Fragger used to do if the player was somewhat competant before the nade and K-121 nerf. Passing through a high hp character with a huge damage potential is not easy if the player in front of you knows what he’s doing.
I can’t judge until I see him in game.

he can mow down a fragger in like half a second
if you run around a corner and just hear that minigun spinning up, you know you’re fucked
think he will be quite an interesting addition to the meta

From what I played before, on Offense he can have a hard time getting kills because of how slow he is making it super easy to just hit and run him. On Defense though ouch…
“I just hope this slow character doesn’t encounter me while he is making noise around the corner”
Just don’t go around the corner then if you hear a minigun. Don’t go fighting a guy with a guy with a minigun in close quarters. Don’t 1v1 someone with 200 health. It’s not rocket science guys
Snipers kill him easy. Overwhelming him kills him easy. Flanking kills him easy. Poking out of corners at a medium range kills him super easy. His head is fat and made of weaksauce. His minigun has a wicked cooldown if he overheats it.
He isn’t invincible you guys are just scaring yourselves.
I hope you did not change him dramatically since the last time he was available. I always thought the balance was spot on for this big guy. Best close range damage by a HUGE margin. But when he’s ridin spinnaz, he gets slow enough to be a bullet catcher. Vassili will take some more interest on Rhino crowded servers.
Oh, and btw, much much Kira appearance in the video :)…
Personally, I really expect big game sequence changers to be released soon. I’ve already said it but I really think you should work on releasing mercs like stoker and red-eye (who both can block map areas in some ways) quickly. The sooner they’ll get available, the less drama you’ll receive afterwards (there will be much discuss on those anyways).
awesome Merc, as i remember him. Very team dependant, but is insanely usefull when used in a right way!!
