Merc Role Call: Kira

(Ardez1) #1

In the same spirit as the last thread, this is just to get the conversation started on Kira.

Get pumped for the biggest game changer since a tactical nuclear strike!!! Kira is going to flip the table on current meta IMHO.

I must say that this is the first merc added since the steam beta that I will purchase on day one; high speed + assault rifles is really interesting. Plus that laser beam looks hilarious.

(Ardez1) #3

I will be waiting to test her out on her rotation week. It will be insane that week… Bring your sunblock…

(avidCow) #4

I feel like that lazer effect is going to kill my machine. :*

(Spiral) #5

Ahaha I dread to think what will happen when she goes into free rotation.

(APRenpsy) #6

Fun, may replace Arty if I come to like her ammo station, personally I think ammo packs feels a bit better. Same problem with Stroker as well, I dislike the ammo station don’t like being still even for a couple of seconds…

(Mr-Penguin) #7

Well then, there goes the EV!
Imagine a whole team of Kiras as defenders…

Now we just need to add the screams of the dying defenders and a liberal dose of explosions and this laser light show will be awesome!

(Parmenion) #11

i don’t like her, again a merc useless on Underground. If they go out together i will chose Rhino

(Daergar) #12

You make it sound like we mustn’t collect them all? Madness!

Equally eager to get my hands on her as I am on porky.

Am I the only one that this laser beam worries a little bit?

(capriciousParsely) #15

sigh. she looks cool, but i think both arty and kira have bad mechanics because their abilities doesn’t work everywhere on a map. that doesn’t give much room for strategy. especially on underground and bridge last point.

(Szakalot) #16

you know you can blow up windows on underground, right? significant portions of the map are open to sky-attacks. Including both first, and final objective.

Arty’s Q is still a bit of a diva, though. If there’s a pixel blocking the artillery strike, it won’t turn green ( especially past the escalators after the first objective on Underground ). Skyhammer’s airstrike is far easier to land - or that’s been my experience, anyway ( some of the shells might hit the roof, but the rest will land where you want them, more or less ). I don’t know what Kira is actually like, but I’d imagine more similar to Arty than Skyhammer.

Yes. This game isn’t being afraid of a death laser. Kill the person using the death laser. Magically death laser goes away.

(pumpaloaf) #19

The death beam is pretty fun. I’ve had good success both defending and attacking on Chapel using it. Not to bad on defending Bridge and Trainyard either. Even fried some unsuspecting people at the first and last objective while attacking on Underground.

I enjoyed playing her but the most disappointing thing is that so far everyone’s ignoring her Ammo Station. :frowning:

Death beam is awesome. I think the most fun is when someone doesn’t realize it can be controlled, and they go to hide literally in a corner. Hah! You can run, but you’ll die tired.

It’s also superb for area denial. Stick it just in front of the pipe leading from defender spawn to the final objective on Underground, and no one can get past for a good few seconds. Well, assuming the barriers are closed.
