Name: Ronald “Roach” Chipanski
Class: Support
Health: 80
Speed: 410
Origin: Poland
Gender: Male

Roach always loved the tools of war, but was not the sort to take to the front line. Trained with multiple types of drones Roach was notorious for his infiltration of enemy territory with small robots capable of simple tasks. With the dangerous groups as well as radiation Roach’s robotic know how was quickly put to use in London.

Character: Someone creepy and devious. Antisocial preferring to remain by himself.

Abilities:

[Q]: Little Bugger: deploy a small drone which can walk up walls and complete objective. It is semi-slow and can only attack by a self destruct with a 5 second timer. The drone can both repair and act as a piece of C4. A blinking light appears when it it working on an objective.

[E]: Deploy Cover: Roach hides in a small camouflaged shelter that turns entirely invisible, but immobilizes Roach as well as giving him no sight besides his drone’s. The camo fails when someone shoots it, but will take a small amount of damage before it breaks. Roach can hit e again to leave, but it does take a moment where he is exposed.

Main weapon: Roach will not receive a main weapon and instead get a medium drone with a turret. This drone can be driven around the area acting very much like a normal player, but is of course shorter and can move straight forward faster, but is slow to turn. It has a gun (up to the dev’s on what sort) on a turret that lets it fire in any direction while moving.

Roach then will get a pistol and melee weapon as seen fit by the Dev’s.

I see this as a much better answer to infiltrating enemy defensive points rather than sending someone like Phantom who just kills everyone and aggravates the players because of his bulkiness, stealth, and offense. Roach provides a great tech centered character who could prove to be a great long term choice in both defense and offense by setting up his drones and swapping between them. Which ever one he isn’t using is a siting duck making it risky to have multiple ready. Also when a drone is destroyed Roach has to place another meaning if he wants to hide all the way at the other end of the map then his drones have to cross the ENTIRE map every time balancing out his hiding places.

His bugger drone provides a great recon option letting him spy on the enemy team giving his team options to attack better as well as taking out side objective while other players deal with the main ones.

His main combat drone acts as a sacrificial soldier who can go first into a fight to take fire and deal a small bit of dmg before the other players go in.

This also has a nice reflection to real combat situations where drones are used to scout out first and sometimes complete dangerous tasks. I think with Skyhammer’s combat bomber drone simple ones like these could be fantastic for the game providing a character who both fits the semi-scifi theme and focuses on tactical gameplay rather than rushing blindly throwing grenades and spraying bullets.

(ASTOUNDINGSHELL) #2

the first ability seems a tad OP

Well it’s instantly destroyed by any source of dmg and has a cooldown after its broken. It’s not like he can spam out a bunch of them to all cover the objective. If there is a group around it then its very likely to be spotted before it can do anything or the blinking light will give it away for both the explosion and the objective taking.

Any details that you feel aren’t covered?

(ASTOUNDINGSHELL) #4

how strong si the turrret. and does the turret coutn as an ability?

I feel like he should have two drones, one that acts as some sort of reconnaissance, the other acting as a suicide drone with the C4. An objective drone seems a bit weird. His cover shield should auto-deploy when he uses a drone. Other than that, your character has a nice bio and stats.

Well the second drone does replace his primary weapon. I would say it’d be similair to a weak primary weapon, but its more about getting a bit of dmg on all the enemies while your team follows up taking them out. I’d leave that open to the dev’s as I’m not focusing on the numbers here.

Well his focus is meant to be side objectives (or with very good teamwork main objectives. A little drone is harder to shoot than a proxy after all). I don’t want his small drone to be a combat focused one. That suicide explosion is a last ditch thing or an opportunity maker letting you set up for your team to run in.

His bugger’s are meant to fill a role like proxy or bushwacker giving the team another way to take objectives besides sieging the area to heck and killing everyone. It also makes the enemy team keep their eyes peeled as the light will turn on during objectives, but its still a rapid set up.

Also note this was somewhat inspired by the bomb defusing robots and camera bots used today so I saw this as the next big step.

The reason why his cover does not automatically go is that I’d like it to be on a cooldown so he can’t just run and hide every time. Yes he’s likely to die before he gets away, but say he knows someone is coming around from a drone perhaps they also have a Roach who found him. He now has to run and plan rather than just sitting there in perfect safety. it wouldn’t be long maybe 15-20 seconds all there to make him have to move now and then.
