How you would have preferred new mercs to be released?
I personally would rather have a bundle, or better yet a duel rivalry event. Between mercs with opposite abilities, countering each other.

Honestly I don’t care much as long as we don’t have to wait anything close to the gap of Aimee to Turtle.
Releasing mercs is like serving food in fine restaurant. I prefer hors d’oeuvre, main course and dessert separately. I enjoy the torture of waiting that fine medium-raw steak and let it set before dessert. If you give everything same time, it’s like serving fast food in mac donalds. It would make things escalate faster, but the food would remain qualityless. I dont say what restaurant SD is, but I only hope to see this restaurants Gordon Ramsay more often.
Releasing multiple mercs at once requires less overall balance shifts, which I prefer
I’d rather them release them one at a time to have ample time to balance things without majorly changing what makes DB enjoyable to its players. Sure you can release several at once and majorly change everything, but I’d rather they release one, balance them so they fit with the game, and only then release more.
I might be a bit biased though. I believe pretty much all of the merc roles are filled, and there’s not much SD can do without either adding in redundant mercs that do pretty much the same thing, or majorly changing how the game works. I like DB as it is, and I’d rather it not change too much in that regard.
I want maps, game types, bug fixes, and further balancing of the mercs and maps we already have.
We have plenty of mercs as it is. If the devs start going willy nilly on too many more mercs, itll make certain mercs redundant or useless.
I’m personally of the opinion that dev time needs to be spend everywhere except new mercs. We have a roster larger than Overwatch already, that’s more than enough to carry a full game. Plus the more you introduce the harder it is to balance it all. That’s the problem with Paladins at the moment, they are introducing way too many new characters and the meta is in constant flux between them all. It’s just too much. Dev time needs to be spent on bugs, maps, gamemodes, balance, and customization not more mercs.
When they are good and ready.
SD have no good reason to rush. I understand they really wanted to drop a huge update for Gamescom, but I disagree with the decision to push Javelin live in that state. Part of taking the game back is setting their own milestones and deadlines. Setting them too aggressively causes a rushed implementation, which introduces all kinds of balance problems and bugs, which hurts player experience.
I’d prefer to not see another new merc for 3-5 months so they don’t languish like Thunder did post release nerfs or dominate like Javelin has, requiring major reworks. Turtle was about as ideal of a release as I could wish for. He was marginally too good, but not oppressive enough that it couldn’t be resolved by changing a few numbers.
