Merc Refund Event?

(AlphaUT) #21

why not just buy all the mercs
Because it takes on average 118 days of constant playing to acquire them, or $154, which is money I’d much rather spend on three other games?

The game is grindy if you actually take the time to do the math about currency income.
Feel bad for you.

Then whats the point

Again, refund can be little as 10% I don’t even care.

Then whats the point
The point of what? Even if its a little bit it is still something.

Breh the main point is for a player to have a chance to get rid of a merc from their inventory.
The low refund estimate is of course a suggestion.

Don’t just say no to everything you disagree and ask for reasons that can be interpreted from actually reading the whole post and everyone else’s ideas

Why, because I actually did the math to make a value assessment instead of spending money first and then justifying it later?

I know that’s how f2p models tend to succeed but come on, man. You don’t have to put up with people fleecing you with overpriced business models.

I love all my mercs equally. Why would I ever want to throw away the ability to play with a different skill set? If you like the game, getting credits for mercs isn’t really that hard or even time consuming. Take advantage of daily credit bonuses from matches played and daily first win as well as the 3 missions every 4 hours and you’ll get 50k in no time at all.

Assuming you do three out of the six mission sets a day (which requires a lot of free time as you can’t just play nonstop, you have to only play when you have missions as the base rate is so slow), plus dailies gets you roughly 9,000 credits a day. Acquiring all the mercs costs 770,000 credits. This means that you require around 118 days to get all the mercs and that’s not counting if you want any loadouts for them. So you’ll be playing with them gimped, free of augments, unless you get lucky and get a random drop.

That might be easy, because all you do is play, but it’s not fast. And not everyone has the time or the desire to do three mission sets a day. God knows I got bored and left because of the grind a year ago, and only came back recently. Things like this would go a long way to making sure people like me (who hate grind) actually stick around.

Oh, and before you suggest paying money, buying all the mercs costs $154, and again, not counting any loadout cards.

Just saying. It’s one thing if you think the business model is alright, but not all of us agree. And making the business model a little more bearable for us doesn’t hurt you.

@NikolaiLev Don’t focus too much on acquiring everything so quickly; enjoy the game for what it is, challenging yourself to follow the missions they set for you but not to the point where it’s not fun anymore. If you end up playing the game just for the grind and not for the enjoyment of the game itself, the game can get boring quickly.

As for mercs themselves, there’s no rush to acquire them all. It’s certainly frustrating to have saved up for a merc and realized that the merc wasn’t the play style you enjoyed, but don’t let that detract from the game itself. Who knows, maybe in the future you’ll feel an urge to try out Rhino every once in a while. Getting permanent mercs is kind of like a bonus from enjoying the game.

That kind of advice is all well and good, but then the 5 mercs available for free at the moment just aren’t that fun, the lack of variety makes the game incredibly difficult to enjoy. And at that point it stops being fun.

That’s not a perspective I can ever agree with. I need variety in a game for it to be fun; there’s a reason the game doesn’t just have one merc in each role with one weapon each. It would be much easier to balance, but it’d be so much more boring.

So, no, it’s really not a bonus when a merc turns out to be boring to play just for the possibility of enjoying it later. Sometimes you really do just buy a merc you think you’d like, but don’t. That’s why this is a good suggestion.

Man I just want Rhino out of Barracks that’s it lool.

I could think about buying him again in the future as he definitely can be fun hehe
Just don’t see myself playing him enough to justify having him in my inventory.
I enjoy working with the free week rotation.

Seriously though I literally told myself I wasn’t gonna buy him before and because I was sleepy or something ( or high ) I “accidentely” bought and played him.

ummmm big ass problem with refunds. what about players that used cash or bought stuff like the merc packs… hmm would be weird to see how nexon pulls your money they use back out of their arses

(Cgz27) #32

Good point breh.

If they did let us refund then they might only make it so you only able to get credits back, since real money might be a little complicated to do also.

Although, the only reason you pay money for are things you can’t (or will take too long to) buy with in-game currency lol … or to support the companies ofc :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Otherwise the limited option to simply return the merc would again, still be nice…

(bgyoshi) #33

You would absolutely only get credits back.

In microtransaction systems, you pay money to get content on demand. You don’t pay money to try it out and hate it and get a refund. You either get it the slow way, or you get it now. No take backs.
