Merc purchasing ideas/suggestions

(Octosquid) #1

I was thinking up of a few ideas for when you buy mercs and such. Obviously none of these are priorities or anything. (Most of these ideas came from League)

  1. Refunding
This was a small idea and though I haven’t had buyers remorse in the game as of yet, and I really doubt I will, maybe sometime in the future, every player can have something like 1 ‘refund point’. Kinda like in League of Legends. Once you use your refund point, you wont be able to get it back. Something like that.

  2. New release merc bundles
Okay, so this kinda doesn’t go well with the first point but what if there was like, special deals when a new merc gets released in the future. Like, for the price of 50k you’d get one elite case or something on the first few days of release when buying the new merc. Its quite a good business model if you ask me.

Thoughts and opinion?

I agree on the refunding idea. It would be nice if we had an easy option to refund for mercs we really regret buying - because £6.99 or 50,000 credit’s isn’t “cheap” for just one merc anyways, and I personally regret my purchase of Red-Eye and Vassili big-time. Played them both for probably 30 minutes each and never touched them again.

As for the merc bundles, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! Last I heard, they were thinking of switching things up or making a new one “soon”. Sadly, we can’t say when, but it’s probably not too far off now.

As much as I personally dislike the game LoL, they have some good ideas in terms of business model and customer incentive. ^.^

  1. We already got free rotation for people to try before they buy. If they regret their purchase then tough, should have waited for FR first.
  2. For CASH PURCHASED mercs then yeah this makes sense, sure they might think about doing it to boost sale. But for credit purchases there’s next to no incentive for SD to do it apart from simply being nice. Don’t get me wrong I’d love this as I buy all new mercs within a day of them coming out.

@Malkovich You are forgetting the rotation is not 1 week like a lot of other F2P games with character rotations, so it could take a couple of months (in theory) for someone’s desired merc to go on rotation. Should they really have to wait that long to “try” it?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t disagree with you completely, I think it’s wise for people to wait, I’m just questioning the fact that it’s a 2 week rotation and the length of time people would have to wait.

I personally think that the ability to trial a merc is a great idea.
Then again all the noobs can trial vassili.
