1. Black Hole Grenade
5 second fuse, cookable. Sucks enemies in and deals damage while sucking. If enemies are pulled into the middle, they take 100 damage per second. While being pulled, 25 DPS. Range: ≈ the same as a proximity mine. 5 second duration, 10-20 second cooldown. (If 20, he gets 2 at once.)

For a name, I was thinking of something like “Vacuum.” I thought that “Black Hole” would be a bit racist since he’s south african so I don’t that that that’s good…

Whilst an interesting concept, I wouldn’t use that idea. An electromagnetic grenade which by using a strong magnetic force pulls mercenarys in slowly and slows their movement.

If it’d work I don’t know.

I don’t think they should be an agent class, as their ability is not a weapon. The mechanic is interesting though, and it fits (if only barely) into the overall feel of dirty bomb from a realism standpoint. However, I don’t know how balanced this would be, I’ll let @Naonna tell you why, because he’s better at explaining than I am. It removes mobility.

@Dysfnal I wanted the merc to feel a little bit underpowered, as his ability would be very powerful, and potentially have either 2 at once, or a very low cooldown. His ability would also be very effective against an EV, as it would deal about 500 damage to it. The fact that he is an agent makes him more dependant on his team than other Assault mercs.

I was also thinking about maybe giving him a second ability. If you have a suggestion for something that could balance him out, please let me know.

I love the ability.
But change the stock primary to Empire-9, the best machine pistol.
Also if you want a second ability make him be fire support with a ammo station.
And melee give him a katana, also change his secondaries to the M9, sebstatte, etc…
And for the name make it be black hole, and cosmetics make him have no shirt and whip lashes on his back.
A number, and for lore he worked in the cotton plantations.
Just joking, but in all seriousness vacumm would be a good merc, his age around 30.
And forget the racist comment lol.

I didn’t even look at the primaries. Spark had machine pistols are her primary due to the sole fact her ability was a literal weapon that did more damage than most primary set of weapons.

You can’t just throw machine pistols in, from what I’ve learnt, willy nilly. A railgun mercenary could have it, but not this mercenary. I’d just add shotguns and/or SMGs. That compliments the ability.

@Fyrix I would have him use a shotgun, but maybe only the Hollounds and the Remburgh. Maybe for the third I would use an SMG. Any suggestions on which? (Please, not the Blishlok.)

OR

Maybe give him a secondary ability that would be some kind of magnetic rebar launcher.

I suggest SMG-9 or hochfir for shotgun alternatives, as SMG 9 isn’t being used as one, and hochfir is only used on proxy. KEK10 is a bit too strong for a shotgun alternative. You could have hollunds ahnuld as those have better ranged viability for shotguns, or ahnuld remburg

Also, it’s a MERC. I f***ing hate it when people call them heroes or classes (unless they are referring to the merc’s class).

Sounds way too gimmicky, to be honest. I’m open to ideas but this seems kinda unrealistic for Dirty Bomb.

Trust me, DB isn’t the most realistic game ever, but I just don’t think this black-hole concept works. :3

I wouldnt see a Black Hole/Vacuum in Dirty Bomb… Maybe an EMP which disables EV’s and Specials (or Destroy specials) I would say a 25 Second cool down would be a minimum.

I guess it would work like Thunders Concussion Grenade but working on Specials and EV…
When i mean Specials i mean, Proxy Mines, Stickys, Heal Stations, Ammo Stations maybe even work on things like Rhinos Minigun, Kiras Orbital Strike and Naders Nade launcher. It would effectivly destroy the following and reset the cooldown so they have to wait to use it. He would be an assault class but have a faster repair than other mercs (except Proxy, Fletcher, Turtle (Yet to be released) and Bushwhacker)
