[Merc] Mirage: An illusion mercenary

Backstory/background
Mirage was a very smart student growing up. She attended the University of Toronto on a psychology major, while also focusing on optical studies as a minor.
For her thesis, Mirage discovered a chemical that causes lifelike hallucinations when inhaled. She also found ways to pick what people would hallucinate. This discovery could be used for lots of good in the world, but her peers thought of it as nothing but evil, thus expelling her from classes.

Mirage kept her knowledge of these two fields, but was without a job, and was starved for money. Seeing the situation in London, she thought of bringing a new element to the battlefield. The element of illusions.

Ability 1
Decoy (Hallucination?) Grenade

Mirage throws a grenade that releases a nearly-clear chemical into the air. As enemies breathe it in, they experience terrifying hallucinations such as:
-Angry charging Rhino (The minigun guy, not the animal)
-Pissed off Phantom
-Really annoyed Fletcher
-Kira’s laser rolling around

Deals no damage, but psychs the enemy into running away. Shooting the hallucination will cause it to fade away. Hallucinations will deal no damage, but serve as a decoy, allowing Mirage to make a fast escape, or dash to the objective while enemies are distracted.

2 Charges that recharge over 20 seconds each

Ability 2
Dazing Mine

Plants a landmine, that when detonated, will invert the enemy’s controls. Enemies effected by this will have inverted controls for 4 seconds.

Ideal for rushing an occupied room, confusing enemies and allowing your team to get the upper hand.

1 Charge every 15 seconds

Tolen MP, MP 400, or Selbstadt .40

Just a lil idea I had recently. Feel free to comment your opinions and whatnot. If you are talented with drawing, feel free to doodle a little something.

Sounds like a good idea, but the mine could be very OP in certain situations for the wrong reasons. If Mirage runs right into a small room with a bunch of people in there and drops the mine at their feet and runs away, once it arms it will explode if no one noticed. Then everyone is screwed when she comes back and just shoots them in the face. People could adapt after some time too, but when they are surprised and need to react quickly, they’ll probably mess it up. To keep up with the vision/hallucination motif, I’d say more something like a flashbang or something that temporarily messes with screen would work. Of course they can see the hud through it so if they pointed their guns at her they would see her name.

The whole idea of the mines, would be that they are similar to Proxy. Easy to avoid, but if you rush into some place, you will trigger it and you are basically screwed.

Just gotta step back a bit and shoot it, and you are good to go.

Since Thunder (a planned merc) has a flashbang-like ability, I didn’t want to include a flashbang for her ability.

Stick with the Grenade, make her an Engineer, and you have a balanced Merc. The Mine makes her into something that doesn’t have a ‘role’ because she has two abilities without one being a Support Item.
