merc idea: Terror the drug-fueled destroyer

terror is a tough guy, that’s all you can say, he doesn’t know math, science, or any real important life skills, but let me tell you he knows how to beat people up. he spent his entire life devoted to building his muscle and reflex’s. he also isn’t bad at using weaponry, though his real true skill lies within his fists.

Primary ability: fisticuffs
Fisticuffs is a drug that when injected, activates an alternate state of mind for terror. It makes him become enraged, increasing his melee damage by 30%.
it also increases his movement speed by 20%. during this enraged state, terror can only use melee. it also gives terror a 10% damage resistance to all damage types.

fisticuffs duration: 12 seconds

cooldown: 20 seconds

Health: 140

speed: same as skyhammer

primary weapons:

all shotguns

secondary weapons:

caulden, smuth and westman, deagle

melee weapons:

fists (new), cricket bat, stilletto

Note: when enraged, terror uses fists regardless of melee.

Abilities based on melee attacks usually don’t work out well for the user in shooters, and if it is useful, then it’s usually overpowered. This idea is the former.

I agree with @derpypenguinz19 , and a melee centered Merc with such little protection is concerning considering how fast Dirty Bomb is and the immense risks involved with melee combat in the first place.

As someone who LOVES melee and uses a melee Aura build, I often find that a lack of defense is the only thing that stops a melee play style. Melee already does considerable damage, especially all three bladed weapons thanks to their high speed.

The scariest thing about players who melee you isn’t so much the amount of damage they deal, but how they can survive so much damage done to them and still hurt you and your team.

Rather than focus on damage alone, perhaps Terror could have more defense oriented abilities?

Aesthetically, Terror doesn’t really stand out from how creative the rest of the Mercs are, and a not-so-smart fighter already exists across multiple mediums.

If you’ve like to keep Terror’s description, try twisting it.

As a 3rd party example, Krieg from Borderlands 2 is basically Terror. However, what makes him stand out from the rest of other not-so-smart fighters is his sense of humor and subtle humanized qualities of a drug addict.

Nows not the time for drugs

By any chance, is your merc from Colorado?

People raged at Phantom’s melee. Good luck.
