so how would you control it ? the speed it move in and will not this be a better kind of aimme camera

@agileBeetle the drone would only work in a short radius from the operator therefore if the drone flies too far from the operator the drone will deactivate i was considering this radius to be about 15 meters. just to make it not OP.

@agileBeetle WASD direction, space - ascend, ctrl - descend

(yesser) #5

giving it 15 meters radius is a little bigger then phontom emp (i think its 10 ) and if it move like fyrix say when controlling the drone she would be vulnerable ( i think before aimme camera was meant to switch to the camera and watch but that got changed to the actual ) maybe giving it some mouvment like kira lasers would be nice but it will not help to make it fly in mid air

I like the idea, though I think his ability needs a slightly longer cooldown as spotting is quite powerful as it is. Also, I guess he becomes a sitting duck when controlling it so I think this would encourage even more of what I call the “cowardly vassilli” playstyle from noobs who sit at the back of the map and hide and try to “snipe”. Finally, what happens when he dies? does the ability just stop? these are all things we need to know.

Whilst this is a well thoughtout idea, fits the theme and is very much possible. It can’t work.

Why? Take the spotting drones of battlefield 4, why do they work so well? Big open maps and you can scout out many places as enemies are dispersed. This difference is on dirtybomb they’re much smaller and there’s only a certain amount of places you can go. Not to mention “Market” or other Execution maps, all teams group together usually and there’s only 2 routes they’ll go, so spotting is almost as effective as being on the ground.

Whilst it can work in some ways, I don’t think the fast paced gameplay and narrow maps accomodate this mercenary.

I’ve covered drones already. Easy to exploit, hard to control, hard to hit in response, gets in the skybox and places it shouldn’t be… and while you’re controlling a drone, you’re not completing the objective.
