EW72 Crude Electric Device : Shock places a special razor made wire that haves a tazer attached to the middle, if nearby enemies come in contact with the wire they will get slowed down and get electrified doing 20-30 damage every 4 seconds. (the wire is as large as a generator)

Smart Bullet Ammo Pack : Shock throws an ammo pack, if an ally grabs it, one of their bullets will become a smart bullet, following the target.

Advantages :

  • Excelent at defense
  • Good area denial
  • Can destroy turrets,stickies or mines with the shock wire.

Disadvantages :

  • The shocked razor wire haves a grey-ish color so it’s easy to spot
  • The smart bullet can’t headshot at all
  • Shock can’t use the smart bullet.

Dunno, we already have a good AoD mercenary. We need mercenaries to fill unfilled roles, not overlap.

@derpypenguinz19 “the first bullet shot” the shotgun shoots atleast 6 bullets or less, that means that only 1 shotgun bullet will work with the smart bullet

@Sneaky do you even read? or don’t you read? it can’t headshot. no matter how much you try, you can’t headshot.

Also you said one of them, does that mean the first shot you fire or just random?
Also it’s kind of hard to imagine a bullet ‘following a person’ Does it do it like a dog? or like does it float beside the character? Or follow on twitter?

Or does it lazer into their body as long as you have vision on them?

Oh and also Can your zappy trap thingy be destroyed by shooting the wire? or should we shoot the taser to destroy it?
And how much health does it have?
How long does it take to arm?
How much slow?
Also pretty sure mercs wear shoes and trying to electrify through rubber with a taser is pretty impossible :slight_smile:
Cool idea nevertheless.

@Bluepanda 1. The bullet will follow the target in sense that it will chase the target and hit it.
2.you can shoot both.
3. it takes 1-2 shoots to take it down.
4. the arming is the same as Proxy’s mine.
5. well the razor wire will stab inside the skin of the mercs and then electrify it. xD

It’s a skill-based game. Not to mention smart bullets? How would they stop, what about walls, are they instant?

Cool if you can answer these questions, RIP the devs who have to code it. Barbed wire isnt needed cause Concussive grenade already does that job.

@Fyrix well, if they are like 1 meter close to the target it will get into a lock on state, in that state they can’t move or do anything else, just go straight foward, you can also hide behind the walls to make them hit the wall or smt like that, and no they aren’t insant.

and if wondering how the smart bullet looks like, it’s a regular bullet, more grey-ish, but with circuits inside it.

Honestly in the end the first ability sounds like what engineers would have, and the single 100% (or less idk) chance to hit your target seems kind of pointless.
Also the trap is dot(damage over time), large and visible which is kind of useless to as it can be killed. Also it takes time to arm so can’t be used like stoker’s molotov.

does it matter? it’s a gun that shoots like 5 bullets in one go and with the smart ammo that’ll all hit dead center. its the titanfall smart pistol all over again

I’d advise against the smart bullet - while soldier76 is great, non-headshot bullets seem… eh. - Especially in a game where headshot time to kill is significantly less. Giving a teammate a smart bullet may actually lower their 1v1 skills: not improve them.

a small aoe denial focused on slowing rather than outright killing, may work out alright. The issue here is that we already have Stoker for large aoe, and Proxy for small aoe denial.

The slow effect of barbed wire is actually not a bad one. - requiring it be melee’d twice to remove actually would make it hard to remove in a firefight, since its lethality should be less than a proxy mine. And useless if not monitored.

I’d be curious how this would be implemented. This seems like the arty to skyhammer kind of comparison, when you compare this merc to proxy. - Adding a maximum of 3 to the number of wires that can be put out may encourage this merc’s use, also.

I honestly find it really similar to Stokers fire, and the smart bullet can become really useless on a fast fire low damage weapon or OP on a sniper.
