Merc idea: Mist

Description: Mist is a… mystery to say the least. We don’t know much about him, he covered his face in a gas mask and talks with a very robotic voice in different languages. All we know about him is that he is a fearsome, reckless figure to look after. Even if that is a man…

Health: 120
Sprint speed: 410

Weapons:
Primaries: EN-81 (AN-94), Timik-47, Dreiss AR
Secondaries: Makarov, D50, Quarter 9 (G18)
Melee: Kukri, Brass Knuckles, Beckill Knife

Abilities:
Ability 1: Gas Grenades: when deployed and detonated it will unleash a cloud of poison gas that will cover a radius of 5m that will deal 35 damage/sec and last for 10 seconds. You carry 3 of these and it takes 35 seconds to regenerate 1 but you can only use one by one.
Ability 2: Detonator: like Fletcher’s Detonator it simply detonates the gas grenade. Thats it.
Ability 3: Gas Mask: you put down a bag of gas masks that will let your teammates equip it and get pass the gas with ease. A bag contains 5 masks by default and if a wearer is killed or downed then the mask will be returned to the bag automatically. You only carry 1 bag at a time and takes 15 seconds to regenerate.
Tactics: when playing as Mist remember that your key advantage is crowd control. Use it to where the enemies would most likely be heading and block their path. Remember to alert your teammates that you dropped a bag of gas mask so that your team to use it.

Fight back: when Mist throws a gas grenade immediately get out of its radius and then engage him. Since his weapons are mid range its best to take him from a far or close and personal. When he deploys a bag of gas mask destroy it immediately with bullets or explosives. His gas can be taken out by explosives similar to Red Eye’s smoke

As much as I like the idea - I really do, I even posted a merc last week who had a gas nade as his ability (see “[MERC] Switch”) the stats you have on the nade are way too over powering.

3 nades - 20 second duration - 25 second cool down per nade - 20 metre radius- 60 damage per second?

Lets compared that to Stoker (who nearly everyone thinks has an overpowered nade)

1 nade - 7-10 (?? someone confirm) second duration - 35 second cool down - 5 metre radius (ish?) - 30 damage per second.

Your guys nade is twice as powerful, with less cool down time, 4 times the radius, and lingers around for more than twice as long. Not to mention he has 3 of them instead of 1.

12 second duration, 40 second cooldown, 120 DPS.

I don’t care for the idea of the teammates having to use masks to protect themselves from it-I could see that being a big issue with communication. However, I like the overall thought of the gas 'nade. Maybe if it was just a slight drain on health-not enough to kill them but also makes vision blurry or gives them a “drunken” effect?

i can already smell the trolls gassing their own team. the gas nade being more OP than stroker’s is already mentioned, so i wont say anything, but lemme tell you, stoker at this moment is my favorite merc, at least until i grind out thinder. that mollie is killer.

The nade is based on the gas of maps like Terminal and Underground

Also, how do you counter the gas? With Stoker, his fire can be extinguished by Red-eye’s smoke grenade, or explosions. Maybe have the gas be burned out by the same explosions OR Stoker’s Molotov. Have the counter just be the gas masks and fight himself seems like a great idea, but the gas, just like the smoke grenade for Red-eye and the molotov for Stoker, needs a counter as well.

This is just my feeling. Also, instead of the Timik, why not the M4A1. Its is a good weapon and I feel that the Timik is just being used way too much on other mercs.
