Merc idea Jet

Class- Assault
HP- 100
Speed- 430

Basically a bit of a rip of DC’s firefly but you have 2 already so why not more :slight_smile: .His main role is to help hold choke points and to kill that annoying really fast merc at the end of an execution game who is just running around.

Jet pack
Cooldown- 40seconds
Duration- 5 seconds
Propels you along about a metre above the height you started at and has a slow drop off in height after 3 seconds to avoid masses of fall damage. If no direction is selected e.g(your not moving forward) you will just hover in place.

Flame launcher
Cooldown- 120seconds
Duration- 2seconds
Fires a stream of a flammable liquid which after a metre ignites and where it lands with be burning for 2.5seconds at the same damage rate as Molotov’s do. Has a small wind up time and produces a thin stream.

This game won’t work with jet packs unfortunately or any other movement abilities.

Jet Packs are a waste of time, suspended in the air and likely to get shot. Wouldn’5 mind some jet boot with Lucio Esque movement from OW. Perhaps a double jump capabilities. However flying may not work.

Then again that doesn’t fit the theme at all.

The whole point of the jet pack I’m proposing is its more of a glide and jet boost than flying thing which would be easy to code. No need to program rooftops. Read over the entire thing properly please

That’s basically what I’m saying I just wanted hover capability’s to avoid Molotov’s. You can just make it a jet boost with a slight amount of height and glide

if it have a slow drop like you said you would be really weak againts sniper (especialy that now the pdp can deal 100 in headshoots) (imagine falling slowly from that little bridge in chapel ) + movment abiltys could be game breaking but that could maybe or maybe not change
even if he is abilty let him avoid the moltov dammage that would be pretty useless if the other team dont take stocker
the cooldown are also pretty long

1 .He is normally going fast when in the jetpack.
2 .The hover is really optional.
3 .There isn’t many fps where someone doesn’t have a movement advantage over somone else and as far as I’m concerned none of them are ever broken.
4 .Fragger can fly 50ft in the air with his grenade and if he has fail safe can get to the top of the building overlooking A on market.
5 . The jet boost/pack/whatever is more used to hunt down people and to get to safety.
6 . He has another ability!

in dirty bomb we dont have yet any merc who have a direct a movment abilty and for fragger i personnaly consider that as an exploit it wasnt entended by the dev to do so (i think)
for the flame launcher the cooldown is really long thats like 2 airstrikes(skyhammer) if i’am not wrong
i didnt really understand the second abilty is it like the moltov or like a direct flamethrower ( like TF2 one)
considring it as tf2 and how you presented it the goal would be like to make it rain fire ?

Phantom and redeye Pus the whole point was the hover was optional.

The flame launcher sprays liquid acetylene which combusts when it is a meter away from you
some of it will linger where the it is like a Molotov but deals more direct damage.I didn’t actually know what the general cooldowns where at the time of writing this post but I would still say only half it.

We’ve had a few aoe fire-based ideas before - usually including oil and a flare of some sort. I don’t see the point, given how quickly you’ll die if you’re spilling fluids instead of shooting - otherwise, just use stoker for area denial. it’s why he exists.

Movement in this game is meant to be equal between all mercs. (except rhino. he’s fat and slow) - It means that there isn’t any place which can only be accessed through one merc. Also, gliding throughout the air means nothing unless you can shoot. Keep in mind, the dev team effectively removed jump-sniping, so good luck with that.

(Otherwise, go look up compilations of interrupted pharah ults in overwatch. Floating around in a shooter makes you a beacon.)

The glide is more or less to avoid getting stuck and taking fall damage and equal movement in game never really is the best. You can shoot at where you are looking and due to the nature of dirty bomb maps it doesn’t give anymore access then any other merc.
The flame launcher was my attempt of being more creative and just saying flamethrower. Any of fireflys weapons/Pyromaniac based weapons would do
