Guero (Guerrilla)

“Viva la revolution!”

Class: Assault
Hit points: 120
Speed: 400

Guero, mexican born guerilla fighter and revolutionista.
He’s close quarters assault specialist with possible machete hack attack.

Timik-47, SMG or shotgun. Machete as melee weapon

Ability 1: Guerilla radio
By activating Guerilla radio, all ordered air and artillery strikers and lasers by opponents (all abilities which require outside assistance) are canceled for the duration of this broadcast. Also during this broadcast opponents spot signs of other team vanishes. During this both teams will hear the voice of revolutionary talk from distance.

Ability 2: Rush /Guerilla tactics
Guero gets bonus to speed and for machete attack.

Appearance:
Mexican mixed race, possibly more light than dark skin. Parts of military equipment and revolutionary uniform. Bandana with beret/cap.

To be honnedt that sounds like a awesome idea for a new merc but about the first ability. Well what’s the cool down on that cause i think it should be pretty big my suggestion 3:30 mins or above and it should last about 10 secs but dunno man u should think about it. The rest sounds pretty beast to me and if Splash Dmg listened to the merc ideas on the forums i’d love to see this guy in the game and hey if this discussion becomes famous enough they may use that idea.

I haven’t really put thought how much cooldown any of the abilities have when I post Merc idea. It would require looking at how long it takes EV example get to the objective etc.
You are right and it should have long cooldown especially since there could be multiple Gueros in the team. For me the idea is that you can postpone all these effects or cancel one that is already in effect. It could also kind of protect the team from being noticed so easily by opponent mercs that don’t see them directly.
I would like to see more of “countermeasures” for these things area effects more than rather “watch out and run”.

Also I kind of thing that the game needs more close assault/melee characters which I have added machete attack (and sharpened shovel for Serge/Sarge).

I’m not sure about the hitpoints or the speed of characters even though I try to make them fit to the general stats of other mercs. I have kind of tried to think that each of my merc ideas have ability that would be useful in the game but not sure whether they are balanced.
I’m just trying they to fit their own theme without going overboard and have some kind of tactical advantage in the game.

I’m rather sure these aren’t added to the game but when I’m playing the game these ideas come for me (and die like 20 times when my imagination is flying :smiley: ) so I just dump them somewhere.
Later, if there is possibility that community have chance to make their own mercs or give ideas directly to devs, maybe someone picks some ideas from all these threads people post and we end up with cool new mercs.

@retired I don’t think it needs that long cooldown. How about newly spawned merc after you have used your ability still can order airstrikes and other stuff. duration should be 4s though(you can use it when you have just repaired E.V and don’t want it to disable instantly).
And cooldown would be same as skyhammers airstrike which is about 70s I think.

It’s a cute idea, but having a single character to hard counter the entire fire support lineup (outside of stoker) may be a poor idea. SD has explained in the past that they don’t want a rock-paper-scissors character layout. Having a character which strictly counters an entire set of characters probably isn’t going to go well. If your team is on offense with pushing the EV, this character is a must-pick. If you’re not in that situation, his ability is borderline useless.

Also, people absolutely hate melee being viable in pubs in this game. Let’s not encourage that. (In regards to the second ability.)
