Ability 1: Bear trap
Places a bear trap which cannot be thrown but takes 2 second to arm. When stepped on by an enemy, it will deal 60 damage and snare the merc until the trap is destroyed.

Ability 2: Sniff
Taps a device on his wrist which pings all nearby enemy mercs and highlights their foot for 1.5 seconds. Radius double heartbeat sensor.

Primaries : Winchester 37(default), MOA SNPR-1, Ahnuhld-12
Winchester 37, 2 chamber, Reload 1.6 seconds, 100 Rpm, 9*12 108 body damage, 216 headshot damage. Damage fall off 2.54m/37.4m

Secondaries : Simeon .7 , Caulden , Smjüth & Whetsman

Melee : Kukri , Beckhill , Stillnato

Advantages :

  • Easy Head shot or flank protection
  • Quick scan of the area for hidden enemies nearby
  • Can be sniper or close combat depending on your loadout card

Disadvantages :

  • Very short spotting time compared to Aimee or Vassili
  • Stationary while arming the trap

Nice name & background.

  1. A bear trap isn’t a near future weapon or DB-esque ability.
  2. I like the ability to an extent but again, more spotting mercenaries? He’s too tanky for that. Bear traps are effectively proxy mines with less damage.

It’s like a skyhammer, proxy and redeye/vassili fusion.

let me make something clear, you want a recon merc…with a shotgun as a primary AND still have a sniper, 130 health(WITH A SNIPER), proxy mines that makes enemies stop moving and a spotting ability double the range of a vassie snowball with practically no downsides?

A recon with a shotgun. And a sniper rifle. that does 108 damage to the body, AND does 216 damage to the head, i can understand you wanted a sniper rifle that could 1 shot Rhino on a headshot, but c’mon. Other sniper rifles only take 2 shots to take him down (excluding the PDP). The trap needs an duration for the snare, like 2-3 seconds atleast. And seriously range double from the heartbeat sensor? I see you wanted to give it like a radar type of ability, but atleast make it shorter?

i think this merc should have a lower radius on its second ability and also i dont like the idea of a shotgun on a recon cause in reality recon mercs dont have the speed or the health to go on offensive plays same goes for their abilities, they dont have lethal capabilities like fire support mercs

i guess removing the sniper would be better making him a frontline recon much like phontom but more offensive

I feel like this merc is meant to be a close-range recon who controls an area and punishes attackers if they get caught in the traps. - In that case, why not use proxy? The only other reason to use this merc is the pheonix-pulse-like heartbeat sensor. - Fun idea, with the footsteps though. - Not sure how it would work when enemies wall jump to get around.

+1 for effort. - Just not especially confident in his viability.
