Merc Idea: Fox - recon

Fox would be a recon girl with 2 abilties.

First ability is a “scout grenade”. (I dunno if it makes sense in english srry :D)
She would throw a grenade that activates after a short duration, revealing and marking all nearby enemies and deployables for 5 seconds. Cooldown would be like 30 seconds.

Second abiltiy would be “manipulate”. She could use this ability to change marked enemy deployables to work as friendly for a short duration, like 5-10 seconds or something like that.

Stats and weapons.
She would have something like 110 HP and 420 MS.
She would use SMGs as primary weapon. Hochfir, KEK-10, SMG-9.
Secondary would be DE .50, M9, Selbstatd .40.
Knives: Beckhill, Stiletto, Cricket Bat.

Character design.

So I tried to drew something that’s close to how I imagine the character, but I’m not that good at drawing. I also added some photos that are close to what I imagined.

So she has like an army scarf on her head, you can see a bit of her hair, haircut is similar to Aura’s, but different color, for example ginger, because her name is Fox.
She wears a slim long sleeve top, combat gloves, a kevlar vest with some pockets on the front and a backpack.
She wears skinny/slim pants with side pockets and sneakers.

I really hope that devs see this and maybe consider to make this merc, would be cool. :slight_smile:

Second ability seems useful, first one seems like worst version of vassilli

It’s actually 1 ability, with 2 functions first you have to throw it to a place to reveal if there are enemies and/or deployables there, then with the second function you can take control of the enemy deployables. Yes it’s similar to Vasilli/Aimee abilties, beacuse she’s a recon too, just more offensive.

Do we really need more recons? A lack of spotting characters is not a problem this game is having. I like the design idea: just would perfer it be an assault or fire support merc instead.

Turning enemy deployables against themselves de-values characters such as proxy, bushwacker, aura, and even the ammo givers. - Not something we want to see when a merc goes onto free rotation.

primary is vassie’s snowball with the additioal ability to mark enemy deployables with an absurdly short effect duration and long cooldown.

secondary ability is probably one of Naonna’s pet peeves by now.

Currently there are four mercs for every role. So yeah, we need new recon too. I’d like to see a new recon that uses smgs.

What about changin abilties, replace the grenade idea with a device that can scan the area in front of you and reveal enemies and devicies. And adding a secondary function that can hack a targeted enemy device and turn it into your device.

Q: Scans the area in front of you and reveals enemies and their devicies.
Scan has a maximum of 5 seconds duration, you can move while you are scanning, but can’t use your weapons. Device has 10-15 seconds recharge time.
Range would be like 15 meters.

E: You can hack an enemy device from short range, lets say maximum range is 2-3m. It takes 3 seconds to hack, if you interrupt the process you have to start it again from 0.
15 seconds cooldown. Hacked devices work as your own, you get xp after them, but you can’t move them.

phantie’s more of an assault nowadays. a hit-and-run-er, with his piss-poor, loud-ass cloak. a good phantie player who uses his mic a lot might be able to do some scouting, but being able to mark enemies is just a recon thing

I know that Phantom is a recon, I even said there are 4 mercs for each class.

You called? - We already have enough recons INCLUDING phantom. I stand by my word.

My concern with ‘turning’ abilities isn’t the same as disabling deployables for a short time. - Once your team focus-fires and kills the Phantom, your Aura station will come back: it doesn’t instead heal the Phantom’s entire team.

@Naonna Just wanted to point out I made a fire support merc (well, kind of) and have another in the pipeline. But you are right, we need more firesupports.

Yeah we have enough Recons now, but they will add more mercs, so that mean they will have to add another recon in the future, because as i said at the moment each class has 4 mercs, I guess they want to classes to have equal number of mercs. Not 10 firesupports, 4 reconds, 6 medics, 8 assaults… :smiley: So no, we don’t have enought reconds…
