merc idea - doctor Jekyll the twisted miracle worker

Doctor Jekyll need no introduction. he took the medical world by storm, he found a cure for split personality disorder, he has won the nobel prize, and has 10 books on the topic medicine. a genius you could say, well try explaining that to Hyde, his ‘second persona’. Hyde isn’t such a noble man, considering how he kills people for fun, and only really cares about himself, and himself only. Jekyll and Hyde however, have an understanding with each other, at least whilst on the battlefield.

Jekyll is a Medic with the ability to heal team-mates via his ‘stream gun’ which was originally used to cure split personality disorder, however it has been modified to provide healing to allies. however, Jekyll can summon hyde. hyde has the ability to heal himself via killing enemies and also gains a 20% movement speed buff, and also completely removes aimpunch from himself whilst in this state. however, this puts Jekyll’s Stream gun out of action, due to only Jekyll knowing how to use it. also once Hyde turns back into Jekyll, Jekyll suffers from a 10 second cooldown on the stream gun and also gives a 20% movement penalty on Jekyll himself for 3 seconds.

Primary ability: Stream gun: The stream gun is a beam of healing that only Jekyll knows how to use, it gives 20 health back per second the beam is focused on an ally, it has a small range however and can only heal one target at a time. the beam can also overheat if used for too long. (if the stream is held down for 5 seconds, it overheats). The beam also becomes in-active whilst you are Hyde, and will remain in-active for 10 seconds after changing back to Jekyll.

Secondary ability: Here comes the Hyde : Jekyll can summon his second persona, Hyde, this Gives him Faster movement by 20%, The ability to heal himself up to 30 health upon killing an enemy (health gained depends on the Amount of damage done to the killed merc, Hyde must be the one who kills the enemy to receive the health) he also gains 10 HP from finishing downed opponents. He is also is immune to aimpunch during this time. Here comes the Hyde lasts for 20 seconds, however it has a cooldown of 1 minute, meaning that you must choose wisely when to Summon Hyde onto the battlefield. Hyde can revive teammates, however he can not charge defibs properly, meaning no matter how much he charges them, he will just heal the standard amount of health for a quick revive.

Tertiary ability: Defibs: pretty self-explanatory, revives downed teammates.

Health: 95

Speed:same as kira for jekyll (380 during after-affects of here comes the Hyde), faster than proxy, but slower then aura as Hyde.

Primary Weapons.

Smg-9 (default), Hochfir, Crotzni

Secondary Weapons:

Selbstadt (default), Deagle, MP-400

Melee weapons:

Both knives (either one default), Kukri

there was another merc suggestion based on the good and bad doctors. condensing that down a little too much, hyde put enemy health into little orbs and jekyll released those health orbs onto his teammmates.

but anyway…this merc here…

primary is a medigun that overheats in five seconds, secondary is looter/god mode with increased speed and no aimpunch and every enemy is a medic and tertiary are defibs

im not too fond of the idea of a medigun personally, single-target focus in support roles dont exactly exist in dirty bomb. they are all one-off items that can be picked up or a station that gives it out in an area. sporks is sort of an exception, because her meds give little health, but she can still drop a lot of them in one place for people to walk over when they need them. other than that, it’s numbers i cant quite read, someone else will have to say whether or not 20hp/s for 5 secs before overheating(cooldown not mentioned, presumably 10 secs) is too much or too little.

as for hyde mode…im not a fan. at all. medics are not supposed to have frontline offense roles, Assaults and Fire Supports have that job. just no. throw a reduced ability to do support abilities? no.

How about if this Merc is re-worked so that his primary weapon has a “Drain Life” (Q) mode and then it expels the stolen HP to teammates with a “Give Life” (E) Mode.

Your “Stolen HP” Pool goes to zero if you die (so you have to load up your Soul-Stealing Gun all over again on next Respawn)… but in exchange the ability has no cooldown, just a “mode switch downtime”.

Graphically the weapon could be made to emit what looks like the streams from Ghostbusters and it can be swung around like an infinite distance flamethrower nicking (or giving) something like 1 - 2 hp every second.

if work on the idea of 20 per sec its too little since it will over heat in 5 second so 100 health and thats what pheonix full aura burst heal and since phoenix can heal maybe all his team at once this would be useless
personally i like the idea of focused heal with a rhino that would pretty nice in attack like aura and rhino when defending any obj
for the second ability i dont think itsa good idea since it could be pretty useless if you get a shotgun in the face

didnt even know someone else shared my passion for the story. first of all, its awesome that we both thought of this character design, second of all, i didnt steal your idea in any way, just making sure yah know :slight_smile:
