Merc Idea: Dingo (edited from Gauge)

Dingo (originally known as Gauge :smiley: )

Class: Assault
Hit points: 100
Speed: 430

Dingo is acrobatic young gentleman from Australia. He loves dogs, movies, threatre, jazz music and he’s also more or less closet homosexual. As side weapons he uses only light SMGs/pistols but his main armament is his ability number one.

Ability 1: Auto 12
Dingo carries around a shotgun. Not any shotgun though, an automatic one.
It takes some time to load (cooldown when whole clip is loaded) but when this beast gets under action, it’s chunky salsa time (spicy-dancy fun). It offers bit less punch for one round with less range than other shotguns in the game but it fires rapidly opponents (one round hard to fire) into the oblivion. Put Dingo in a room with enemies and it will feel like small closet (or casket) for them!

Ability 2: Drop dead
By using this ability Dingo can “play dead”. He will drop theatrically to the ground and everything will act like he would be dead but not finished (this allows him also “drop to the floor” quickly possibly for a cover). Even the person who shot towards him and got hit will get notificiation that he actually shot Dingo. However as he lays “playing dead” he may jump up in the moment he wants. While on the ground Dingo can be killed/finished like any other character (even though you must go through his total health first). Just like with Nader, you should make sure he’s dead and finished!

Ability 3: Scent (Optional for Drop Dead or something that is always “on”)
After Dingo has wounded an opponent he can use this ability to “track” the opponent. It leaves otherwise invisible red trail into the air where opponent went. This is useful in situation when Dingo gets partial hits with his shotgun so he can go and finish his prey.

Appearance:
With bit canine type of head, he’s otherwise slim handsome threatretically acting tanned but blonde dude with sunglasses who likes to dance and loves cagefighting.

“Playing Dead” sounds like something Phantom would do. If I may suggest something, is that it works like the TF2 Dead Ringer. You press the Ability key to toggle it on and off, and if you’re hit by anything while the Ability is active, the person(s) to hit you will get XP and a fake kill notification, and you’ll go down. You’ll sheathe your weapons while the Ability is active, though, so someone who notices this can spot the deception.

Oh, and maybe you can’t be Finished like people downed for real can be. They still have to chew through your remaining health before they can do that.

Maybe something like that. Haven’t tried that part of tf2.

For me this is kind of combination of few elements. First of all, totally awesome gun
and assault character that is fast but bit fragile. So he’s best inside the houses with the ability to be rather speedy (you could even add bit speed to him). However, when his show is over when it comes to Auto-12 he must find other ways to survive until cooldown (as he doesn’t have something like Crotzni like Nader does for backup so you must be helluva good shot with your pistol). Then it’s when it comes important to jump, dive and possible drop dead in overly dramatic fashion.

Actually originally I had in mind the idea that he would change his appearance as well when dropping dead, so you wouldn’t know that it’s Dingo that has “dropped dead” but instead though you got yourself a kill for another character so basically Dingo looks like other member of that players team instead of Dingo. It might be overly complicated and OP though.

Just make the Auto-12 his primary. Scent is fine as a passive. You know my opinion about Drop Dead. I honestly would rather not have the appearance change on “dropping dead” as it’s a bit too much of a giveaway.

@crabbyDimension seems like a very offensive type of asault character much like a glass cannon.
it seems liek ti would be fun to runa roudn with. and set up trpas for thsoe ones who forget to gib enemies

@retired Atchisson Assault Shotgun a.k.a AA-12 is what you need for this merc. Drop Dead seems like a nice ability.

Cute ability, if not very effective or applicable against smarter players.

I’d like to see the auto shotgun have a massive reload time to compensate for the fact it could likely murder a full-health rhino with head shots before he even spins up.
