Summary: This Merc is more of a stay-hidden type than other classes.
Abilities: Thermal Vision and Smoke Grenades.
Both are pretty straightforward, I don’t think explanation is needed.
Weapons: Silenced Assault Rifles / SMGs and Silenced Semi-Auto Pistols
Proposed usage:
Smokescreens can be used to obscure enemy vision to give the merc or his teammates a chance to run across guarded choke points or complete objectives unseen. It can also be used to obscure a defensive position to allow for ambushes against enemy players.
Thermal Vision would mostly be used to see through the smoke, though it might also be used to see landmines or heartbeat sensors better, or potentially grenades, airstrike markers, orbital strike markers, and artillery markers as well (depends on how the devs want to balance it). The way this could work is that the thermal vision could be dropped like a health or ammo pack, able to be picked up by the merc himself, his teammates, or (if the throw was bad) some enemies. This might be extra helpful for Vassili because he would be able to see enemies or parts of enemies more clearly at farther distances. The Thermal Vision would probably have an indicator in one corner of the screen that indicates battery power, and when depleted the thermal vision switches off.
My take on trying to make a Covert Ops merc that isn’t just a clone of the Spy from Team Fortress 2.
