[Merc] Hood (Bowman)

Hello everyone.
Here’s my merc idea !

Hood
Class- Recon
HP- 120
Speed- 400

Profile-

Hood was an American bowman/sportsman, mostly known for his marksmanship with a bow and an extremely competitive attitude, that even got him into fights and eventually forced him to quit.
When he heard about what was going on in London, (and mostly the money), he joined the fight.
With the help of a couple friends, he added some nice gadgets to his arrows to make them even more useful in a fight.

(Ability #1) Recon Arrow
Cooldown- 5 secs
Duration- x
Marks a single target with a direct hit from this arrow, for about 8 seconds

(Ability #2) Poison Arrow
Cooldown- 10 secs
Duration- x
Poisons a single target with a direct hit from this arrow, for about 6 seconds
Confuses the opponent (slow down/blurred vision) and slowly drains HP (-5 hp/sec)

Weapons-
Primary- Bow & Arrow
Secondary- Tolen MP
Melee- Beckhill Combat Knife

Bow and arrow stats and behaviour.
It’s a timed charged shot, one click and it’s a weak shot, doesn’t travel fast/far, low damage
Charge for too long and the shot will be really inaccurate.

Hold the charge for about a second for max damage and range. Arrows take some time to travel in the air of course.

Damage : 79 (body) 158 (head) [Based of the Fel-ix]
Time to fire : 1 second-up to 2 max
Ammo : 1/20 max
Reload at each shot.
Speed modifier : 80%
Reload time : 1 second

Notes
Design ideas. Slim male, wearing a hooded long coat, a half-mask/gasmask. Dark colors. 3 different quivers on his back, for regular, recon, and poison arrows.

It would be awesome to have a merc like that!
However here are my suggestions to improve it.
Give him revolvers, it seems more “elite” to have a revolver!
And do the poison arrows dmg stack, so two arrows do 60dmg over six seconds.
And just to clarify, he has three arrows total, right?
A recon arrow, poison arrow and normal arrows?

bow/archer have been suggested before and most of them have the same problem like yours (sadely)
in DB each merc have three different primarys/secondry and melee with along the augments in the loadouts but making a bow as a primary will break that part of the game and if we give him alternatives weapon his abilties will have no mean shooting an arrow while not having a bow (without forgetting the tiny detail of getting arrows from ammo packs but thats another story )
making the arrow an abilty will maybe fix it but it will need a buff and some changes maybe too ( if you go on DB wikia you will find that naders nade were a weapon but then got changed to be come an abilty )

maybe but that could be under performing compared to other snipers
but personnaly i preffer the idea of the tesla gun that i saw somewhere in this section

Insert usual rant about bows being iffy due to hitboxes, and damage numbers being a problem. Spamming into choke with the power of a dreiss is less useful, and a bolt-action level of damage would be overpowered, depending on the fire rate. At that point, why not use a sniper?

Poison rant as usual, is that because only medics heal teammates, we don’t want that merc winning EVERY one vs one situation postmortem.

My idea to prevent him from spamming arrows too much would be to make the bow usage like the REVIVR, charged shots.
The difference here would be that shots that aren’t charged will do less damage, and will cause the arrow to drop on the ground faster, just like a real bow.
Values of courses need to be tested and balanced as well.

About the poison, I wanted it to have some kind of disruption effect more than higher damage output.

In short my main idea here was to introduce a new merc, using a bow, that could be interesting in mid-range, just like a Dreiss AR Redeye.
