Merc Disappointment

Hey guys … recently my friend ( a newbie in lvl 7 ) bought Thunder becoz of his powerful name :lol: and health but he felt disappointed after using him … I recommend to put the Merc Role Call video of each merc along with the Bio Data of merc in the Merc selection/buying page … so that it would be helpful for new players who doesn’t know that there is a merc role call videos or any information on how effective a merc can be in action while playing !! Becoz i know how difficult it is to get 50k after all the hardships doing execution missions :lol:

I guess this is why we have free rotation. And come one, know days every game was a ton of videos one youtube about everything. This is something that could be done for sure, but then again, how important is that for beta?

Yeah i understand why there is free rotation…but how long will someone wait till his choice of merc comes in free rotation … and as you said this is not that important for beta but it will be good if it is implemented :smiley:

If you know how hard it is to grind out 50,000 credits, why not warn your friend, or have them research a merc before purchasing them? :confused: Any game with characters like this, I will ALWAYS research them prior to making any sort of purchase - beit in-game currency or real money. Same could be said for other purchases too; I won’t buy something unless I know exactly when I’m getting out of it.

I can’t really blame people for making uninformed decisions. There’s no foolproof plan to prevent it. Still, I think having the role-call videos on the merc bio pages would be a great addition, but would some of them need to be updated? cough Phantom cough

I would highly recommend doing your research first… sometimes merc role calls don’t paint the best picture of how a merc works in reality… I see it more as a “sales pitch” that outlines all the cool features of a merc, not necessarily how that merc works in your roster and all the little nuances that comes with it.

For what it’s worth, I’ve done a bunch of reviews on the mercs (except kira, kind of procrastinating that one) where I talk about the playstyle and how I think the merc fits in as far as a purchase goes. I can PM you some video reviews for you if you’d like.

Kandrew’s reviews are really informative and helped me alot when I started to play. In fact, I suggested one for my friend, and he came back the next day having watched all the merc reviews :stuck_out_tongue:

I felt like that after buying sparks, I played a few games as her, couldn’t get used to that style of play so I put it down as just a bad merc. After giving her a 2nd go I fell in love with the Revive gun and figured out how to play her effectively.

Thunder I loved on release, then he got nerfed, now he is kind of so-so, but can still be a great merc to play especially in encounters where defenders use alot of turrets/healthstations etc

For me my goal was to own all the mercs, coz you know…gotta catch em all and all that (DirtyMon)
