[Merc] Deacon (Rebooted)

(Mr-Penguin) #1

“I won’t absolve your sins. I’ll bury them with you.”

Class- Medic
HP- 120
Speed- 400

Profile-
A Chernobyl survivor, Deacon was only a child when the city of Pripyat was evacuated. While he had no immediate symptoms, the radiation that entered his body greatly increased his risk of cancer. When he was 35, he was diagnosed with a terminal case of cancer. Determined to survive, he opted for an experimental treatment developed by the CDA that would completely purge his body of the cancer cells. While it was successful, the payment wasn’t quite as easy to come across. He agreed to work as a field operative for the agency that saved his life, and only a few months afterwards, the Dirty Bomb attacks occurred. Deacon was then sent to London to assist in evacuations and fight on the ground.

It wasn’t long before the Jackals began to tempt him with bigger payments though, and while he’s still offically employed with the CDA, he’s willing to take any job opportunity he can. Armed with experimental, small scale versions of the Containment Pylons and a next generation radiation suit, Deacon is ready to both heal and kill at a moment’s notice.
Appearance- Wears a CDA issue radiation suit. A large crack sealed with clear tape is clearly visible on the visor, as well as multiple smaller cracks and scratches. The rest of the suit looks as if it has been used quite a bit, with dirt and other signs of wear and tear visible. Slung on his back are his signature Healing Pylons.

Primary Ability- Healing Pylons
CD- 20 sec
Duration- Maximum of three deployed at once.
Deacon throws a pylon like a javelin at the target. Upon hitting the ground, it takes roughly a second to deploy. Prioritizing teammates with low health, a single pylon will heal a single target 20 HP/sec.

The real beauty of the Healing Pylons is when many of them are deployed close to one another. Two pylons will heal a single target for 40 HP/sec, while three will create a healing field (similar to a Health Station) in the area they are deployed. Three pylons will also automatically revive downed teammates, but only at a very short range, as well as taking 4 seconds to revive. There is a 10 second CD between every auto revive.

Pylons from multiple Deacons will not stack.

Secondary Ability- Healing Touch
CD- N/A
Duration- Passive
In lieu of defibs due to the healing pylon’s auto-revive feature, Deacon instead helps up teammates twice as fast and revives them with 50% health.

Weapons- Stark AR, BR-16, Timik-47
Quotes-
“Healing Pylon up.”- One pylon deployed
“Decontamination field active!”- Three pylons deployed
“You all needed to be in a body bag anyways.”- Triple Kill

Notes-
Deacon’s back! He’s a longer ranged medic that provides long range healing and support to teammates by tossing pylons into the thick of combat. Provided all three pylons are up, they can provide automatic revives in a way quite similar to Phoenix’s self-revive. The balance and viability of such a revive mechanic can be questioned though- so I need a lot of feedback.

As always, thanks for reading and make sure to leave any suggestions below!

This is op in a ranked match! Stick one of these healing pillons on a team mate and it will always heal your mate without any cooldown.

If you’re complaining about that, then you should be complaining about health stations too. Each pylon only heals 1 teammate at a time, and stacking all three makes them vulnerable to explosives and bullets.

Constructive criticism please. Don’t tell me something sucks without suggesting a way to balance it.

An healing station is stationary.
The should only be able to heal in front of them.

Pylons are stationary as well. They can heal in a 360 degree radius around it, but only 1 target at a time.
