So I’m tired of having to go all the way back through my posted threads list in my profile just to look at old Merc ideas, and clearly the Ability Suggestion thread isn’t a good place to post serious abilities, so I made this thread to go ahead and dump/link all my merc suggestions for future reference and to allow people to actually look back on some of my older ideas.
Anyways, everything here is will be neatly organized (as well as I can possibly make it) by Merc type. Later on I’ll make all of the descriptions in-character.
All of the older posts are towards the bottom of each category, and those ideas are less than satisfactory/ridiculous to me now. I’ve omitted a few of the more popular old ones in favor of reworking them to meet the standard I have now. There’ll also be teasers for all-new mercs… ooh…
Fire Support
Overseer- Supportive Fire Support with EV-targeting Anti-Material Turrets and passive ammo-giving.
Barrage- Defensive Fire Support that launches Rocket Barrages from a distance.
Medic
Deacon (WIP)- [REDACTED] scientist. Powerful offensive healing on the move using [REDACTED], but at the cost of defibrillator pads.
Apothecary- Small-time thief turned quack scientist after stealing a Pirin Medical “HEALR” gun prototype. Can heal from range, but forgot to steal some defibrillator paddles.
Stim (This is my first merc suggestion ever too…)- Former biotech researcher testing his new, speed-boosting and clot-inducing Stimulant Gas on his unwitting test subjects.
Engineer
Sierra (Rework)- [REDACTED] rock climber turned combat engineer. Uses [REDACTED] to move around quickly, and tosses [REDACTED] Traps to keep enemies in place.
Shortstop- Defensive Engineer that protects areas from explosives and Fire Support abilities with Portable Point Defense Systems.
Automaton- Engineering prodigy that commandeers an ARES Engineering robot to do her dirty work for her.
Assault
Scorch (WIP)- [REDACTED] soldier. Not a sociopath, but clearly enjoys the screams of burning [REDACTED] thanks to her [REDACTED] Grenades. Further investigation pending.
Bulwark- Flexible Assualt who can switch between light and heavy Mag Armor modes with the push of a button.
Conduit- Self-appointed “electrician” that can shoot lightning from his specialized Shock Gloves.
Recon
Discord (Rework)- Acoustics expert with a penchant for [REDACTED] and silencing [REDACTED].
Lux- Offensive Recon that uses a Flare Gun to keep an eye on his prize.
Oracle- Surveillance expert with a flying Surveillance drone. Capable of compromising enemy comm data in manual control mode.
Ambush- Freelance spy who can hack deployables to reveal them and compromising enemy positions in their immediate vicinity. Can also clamber up walls and “Pounce” to jump incredibly far and fast.
Man, some of these old ones are dumb… ;-;
