Profile- When your job is to develop compact energy weapons in DARPA’s weapons research division, you really can’t trust an intern to get your coffee. But when that said intern who has had prior military experience and was discharged for having a snarky, immature attitude gets lost in the hallways, you really can’t expect him to be not interested in the live test of a plasma weapon. Of course, Beacon was that intern, and he obviously stole the plasma accelerator and got on the next flight to London to avoid charges and take mercenary jobs for the CDA and Jackals. But the constant risk of death and mutilation still beats being the intern.

Appearance- Wears his old military fatigues with the sleeves rolled up a bit under a ballistic vest complete with groin and shoulder guards. A scarf is sloppily hung from his neck, as well as a pair of welding goggles, as Beacon opts for a cool pair of shades instead.

Beacon takes out his handheld plasma accelerator and switches it on, creating an audible whirring noise similar to charging up defibs. Pulling the trigger will create a nonlethal laser beam visible to both teams for just under a second before a bolt of plasma travels along the laser’s length. Holding and releasing the trigger will turn the bolt into a constant beam, taking three seconds to charge to maximum strength. The plasma bolt/beam deals 45 damage per shot/second and is capable of penetrating multiple enemies. It has an effective range of 50 meters and fires at 250 RPM. Rapid shots will overheat the gun in a way similar to the REVIVR and minigun. If a low health enemy is killed (in accordance to the new instagib rules), they will be instagibbed and their [url=http://33.media.tumblr.com/191585914b2224d924828e7011c924cc/tumblr_n0nia1Qqvb1r9gupyo1_400.gif]body will be disintegrated.

Beacon tears out the regulator on the side of the plasma accelerator and proceeds to go ham on his enemies. Using Overcharge will double the RPM, increase the damage to 55, reduce the time needed to charge up by half, but also spread and decrease the range considerably. During this period, the plasma accelerator will not overheat, but instead gain 5 seconds of CD plus another 3 for every shot fired. Enemies killed while Overcharge is active will have a 25% chance to be instagibbed and explode on death, dealing 30 damage to all nearby enemies.

Notes-
Here we go! A laser merc! Well…not really. Beacon is meant to be a breacher, going in first to clear a room before his teammates do with his powerful plasma accelerator and Overcharge. The accelerator behaves kinda like the REVIVR in a way, but it can’t revive and forms a powerful beam when charged. I’m sure that this is pretty well balanced, but Overcharge might be a little bit OP…suggestions are welcome!
