Abilities:

Adrenaline Shot:
-lasts for 10sec
-movement speed increased to 450
-health increase to 130hp
-player’s sight blurry
-after your ability ends your health is lowered to 90hp for 10sec
-cooldown 90sec

Syringes (for teammates):
-last for 15sec
-health increase by 30hp
-slow health regenertation (maybe 4hp/sec)
-3 at a time
-cooldown 10sec each

Defibrillator:
I think everybody knows what it does.

Secondary
-S&W.40

Background:
Adrenaline once was an honorable doctor only seeking to heal the sick. But you know, drugs can ruin every life. He had stress, much stress, so he took the medicaments from his patients. Too bad they didn’t really like it. He was suspended and not allowed to hold the title doctor anymore. He still had quite a lot of money though. He made his own drugs soon because the effect of the others weren’t intense enough anymore. Adrenaline as his name tells invented strong and short lasting adrenalin drugs that he injected himself through syringes. Now after many times of being intoxicated he has no money anymore…who would have thought. So Adrenaline decided to make his money by using his syringes on the streets of London - simple right?

What do you think about my merc idea? Would you say Adrenaline is balanced?

Well i have to point out 1 thing and that is the double barrel shotty. There are no one shot kill weapons in the game and i get it you want the gun to be powerful but it will on shot kill the majority of the mercs in the game and the other shotties can kill with one shot only if it’s a headshot.
Being able to kill the squishy mercs in one shot is fine.

Well you know that adrenaline doesn’t acctualy help as in heal you it helps you with your strenght and speed and can acctualy kill you a bit ironic to the stats of you’r ability.

Interesting. Do you have to go up to melee range in order to use an adrenaline shot?
I came up with a similar idea for a medic that increased movement speed named Stim that used canisters of stimulant gas in order to produce the effects, kinda like a cross between Aura’s health station and Redeye’s smoke. You could take a hint from that…

Also, 150 health with Aura’s movement speed and a shotgun that can instakill every merc with 2 shots? No thanks.

I like your merc idea. And it’s really unique.
Ane yes you have to be in melee range to use the syringes on your teammates. It’s a bit difficult but I think the health increase and slow health regen make it quite balanced.
About the shotgun: I probably take it out and replace it with the ahnhuld although I like the idea of a double barrel shot.
I thought about the adrenaline ability again as well and came up with some ideas: I would lower the duration of the ability to 10sec and the health increase to 130hp, maybe I reduce the speed a bit as well to 450. Also if you survived during the 10sec your health will be automatically reduced to 90hp for some seconds.
I guess that it’s pretty balanced now but what do you think?

Or maybe you can just modify the shotty a bit so it’s balanced.

Well that’s a bit hard since a double barrel shotgun only has two shots at a time and has to be reloaded all the time. To make up for that disadvantage to other shotguns I wanted it to deal massive damage of 108 to the body (the remburgh deals 96 to the body btw) with a range equal to the hollund’s. But you guys seem to find that damage way to high.

Easy fix: Lower the shotgun damage, raise range and lower the bullet spread - make reload faster is optional. Adding knockback is also another compensation.

But if I would increase the range it would kind of destroy the purpose of a shotgun. It’s meant to deal massive damage in close combat. I mean the ahnhuld already has a hilarious range for a shot and to make one that has an even bigger effective range doesn’t seem to be a good solution to me.

the only problem is every merc have maximum 2 active abilities… Dx this merc have 3, adrenaline shot, syringes, and defib…

Well Phoenix has three abilities as well. One of them is a context ability and can be activated with “f” what you probably already knew so I guess the keys won’t be a big problem. What do you think about the balance?

Like @TheNovice said. It would be fairly hard to incorporate more than 3 abilities into the game, all of which are non-contextual. My suggestion is that instead of a proper melee weapon, Syringes can be used. Of the Syringes would have to be modified, eg, Syringes also deal damage to opponents, they are limited supply and need to be refilled with ammo, a maximum of (insert number) can be held at once, ect.

Or I just make the adrenaline shot ability a context ability: if your health is at 35hp or lower you can use it and your health instantly refills but it takes a while to inject the adrenaline.
