Melee needs some tweaking

We’ve all been in that situation where someone (usually a Proxy) runs to you and melee you to death. All of this while you’re shooting (and hitting !!) said person. I mean come on, K-121 vs little knife and the little knife wins ? I know Proxy is about speed but she shouldn’t be able to face check a Fragger without even being sneaky.

People are currently abusing this as hell, running in a group of ennemies and managing to kill two before they’re taken down. Melee should obviously make less damage when you’re taking the damage from the front.

I honestly don’t find melee to be a problem damage wise. Proxy in general is barely played anymore, though she used to be really OP. My big gripe is that the range is poorly communicated. Sometimes I have to waste a couple of seconds trying to position myself over someone’s corpse just to knife em.

This is so frustrating. I’ve also had occasions where the first knife hit didn’t register but the second one did, even though I didn’t move my mouse or character at all between the two hits.

Well… Movement is kind of Proxy (and Aura’s thing). Honestly if they’re knifing you over filling you with buckshot I’d argue they’re doing it wrong but its not overpowered, especially since they have a better option in their primary. Not to mention – Fragger doesn’t have that much HP, nor is he a CQC. He counters support, and pushes, or holds, like his fellow Assault characters.

If you think he’s bad, Nader, has the same movement speed, worse weaponry (SMGs) and 30 less HP. Only thing she does better is explosive coverage – and Fragger has better consistency than she does.

Psst Nader is faster than Fragger (she is as fast as fletcher and vasilli) and has 40 less HP.
Rest is spot on tho.

I don’t know. Earlier I was in competitive mode (3v5). They had 5 auras with melee and they destroyed us. :frowning:

If you are out of bullets, and someone starts to melee you, you’re all out of luck, as you’re going to die, no matter what. Especially with fast classes like Aura and Proxy (sorta Kira), you can easily miss bullets as they run at you and knife murder you. It’s really simple and prevents you from being revived, which is pretty unfair.

I will admit it gets stupid when you have a 90 pound girl running balls-out like a cannibal at you with a swiss army knife.

I find the knife perfectly well because it doesn’t lock on like CoD when you knife and it takes at least 2 quick knifes to kill and 1 lung, small range and diameter and SLOW knife to kill light mercs.

I would argue that melee has some of THE worst hit registration in the game.

They can nerf melee from the front and quick slashes, but buff slashes from the back. If I can sneak up on a target and do the horrendously slow alt-fire, it should instantly kill them or at least heavily damage them.

You can one hit an Aura with melee, and even Proxy and Kira if you have the Chopper augment.
