Medic Adrenaline Ability

(crazyfoolish) #1

How do you think healing will work post adrenaline. E.g. A medic buffs a teammate with adrenaline who then runs through a stream of bullets (enough to kill him) and is healed by another medic before the adrenaline’s effects wear off. Just thinking about this makes my feeble mind hurt.
Thoughts?

Is this a self-buff only or can others be targetet as well?

I think i read somewhere about a similar buff where the damage as postponed until you are no longer under its effect. I’m not sure if the damage then comes in one short burst or a longer stream, but the latter would probably make it easier to survive through healing. If its a self-buff only i can still see its uses for when the medic needs to get into the heat of battle and try to heal a bunch of people up.

I’m sure that’s how its intended to be used, but I will find it hard to resist just running in with a shotgun and attempting to push back a whole team till it wears off and I fall over.

It is indeed powerful, but you can’t heal the damage. If you take enough damage to die, you’ll die when it wears off, and need to be revived.

Like everything in the Brink though, there’s a counter: players buffed with Adrenaline can still be knocked over by melee or slide attacks.

(crazyfoolish) #5

Afaik it is not allowed as a self buff.

How is one to know someone has an adrenaline boost?

That is great to hear.

Humate wouldn’t you be able to tell by the way that they are not dying?

Yes but by that time the objective is completed.
A player should be able to tell someone has adrenaline by looking at them

I guess it’s safe to say that adrenaline + planting/defusing will be an effective combination as long as you keep the enemy at a distance.

(BiigDaddyDellta) #10

Only medics get adrenaline and cannot plant nor diffuse, so I fail to see the benifit to adremaline there unless they’re constantly buffing the engineer/oprative so they don’t have to move or fight.

(DarkangelUK) #11

That’s exactly what they’ll do. Tag along with the soldier/engi and buff them with adrenaline when they go to plant/defuse. It doesn’t need to be constant, just timed right.

(Exedore) #12

Yep. It’s got one of the larger cooldowns, so it’s very much a coordinated teamwork ability.

(brbrbr) #13

Brink isn’t TF2.
i hope.

(BiigDaddyDellta) #14

Lol, they can only buff themselves is what I meant. Its a SELF buff not one you can give out.

(DarkangelUK) #15

Where did you see that?

(BiigDaddyDellta) #16

At the begining of this page its stated that adrenaline ability is a self buff, unless it takes place of say molitoves for soldiers or what have you I don’t see how you would distribute something like anadrenaline syringe. Anyhow. I suppose it was more of an arguement than a statement but I didn’t word it correctly.

You’re quite wrong.

(H0RSE) #18

It’s actually the exact opposite.

Yes, that part is clear.
