Med Packs

What do people think about medpacks being instant health regen? As of right now they’re just like Aura’s healing station but just not unlimited, which I feel like makes Sawbonez and Sparks similar but inferior to Aura in terms of medic capability. Having the health packs would differentiate the medics a bit more from one another and bring more diversity in terms of gameplay.

Thoughts?

How would that differentiate the medics more? right now you get.

Healingstation - refill over time, keeps on giving, but has a casting delay, forces you to stay fixed near a explosive magnet and doesn’t reduce cooldown.

Sawbonez Medpacks - refill over time, health to the max, cooldown reduction on direct hit, and avaible everywere, sawbonez drops them, but the heal can be interrupted in a firefight.

Sparks Medpacks - instant uninteruptable HP gain, cooldown reduction on direct hit, and avaible everywhere Sparks drops them, but hard to land direct hits and only giving small HP making it not suitable to bring allies to full health with (they are great in combat tho).

(Phoenix) - refill over time, heals everyone in range at the same time, but can be interupted and Phoenix has to be there.

They are pretty diverse right now, and all have pros/cons. Making the healthpacks all instantly would mean that the healing station and sparks healthpacks loose their advantage, or atleast in sparks case that she would need to give out more HP, making her and sawbonez the same (or we lower sawbonez hp given since it is instant now, result would be the same).

One thing to remember is, healing is the unique ability of the the Medics (while reviving is the class ability). They should function all different on every merc.

Instant heal med packs are insanely strong when used right, sparks healthpacks are terrible for healing a low hp teammates to full but it does allow to turn your skyhammer into a fragger when you can land a healthpack or two when he’s in combat.

Sawbonez’s healthpacks specialize more in sustain, they might be interruptable but regen any merc to full within seconds, wich is his speciality.

Since this thread is titled med packs I thought I’d throw my 2 cents in…they need a bigger interaction radius!

I mean I was playing Rhino and I had a Sparks behind me…we got ambushed and she died…I think I took one of them and was running for her med pack and not even Rhino’s big arse could hit them even when towering over them.

As Sawbonez, sometimes I throw the med pack, the throw animation plays, Bonez says a voice line to the effect of “Med Pack Here”, but the f$!# pack doesn’t get thrown, and my Ability counter/timer is unchanged from what it was before. This has cost me and teammates lives.

Dont forget that While Sawbonez can also give more health and faster health regen on a direct hit and Sparks a larger, maybe even double the health she would if picked up, bonus if they’ve got Potent pack.

Something that Phoenix can not do with his healing pulse similar to Aura’s case.

Phoenix seems like he’ll be pretty damn UP, but of course this is 100% speculation.

As for instant heal, big no no. Sawbonez would be so broken.
