Mechanic perk not working?

I thought I remembered reading somewhere not so long ago that it said the mechanic perk will now allow you to repair over team mates who don’t have it? This definitely isn’t working. Was testing it in a server last night with some mates.

Or was this an unreleased feature that isn’t out yet?

Can we please get rid of the “Teammate Repairing” message and replace it with a mechanic that physically dis-allows a teammate to attempt to repair/defuse if somebody else is (except if an engineer attempts to repair/defuse while a non-engineer is currently doing so.)

Hey I’ll have to check this and @CamBrah The teammate repairing should alert players to do other things! :stuck_out_tongue: I can and will pass along this feedback though^^

In Reality it does nothing, I still see 3-4 people sit on on an EV trying to repair and for somereason they always get dominated… Probably has something to do with nobody watching anyone’s back.

And regarding the repairing, the alert does indeed show up, however many people either ignore it or don’t notice it. A lot of people waste time thinking they’re repairing when in reality they are not.

@fandangoRose @CamBrah Not much we can do about players not reading/noticing that their merc is not actually repairing or that the text reads teammate repairing. If they don’t want to play as a team player not much can be done about that. I would hate to shame anyone… but it’s not hard to see that there is a message on your screen and that your character is not animating…

There are other ways, such as making “Teammate is repairing” message maybe bigger or something so its a little more noticeable. Or possibly making it so their gun doesn’t dissapear (and subsequently showing the repair item even though you aren’t repairing) so you know for a fact you aren’t doing anything, or an audible beep denying you.
