Hi all,

What are the mdc & md3 file format exactelly. And with what program i can edit those?
Iv searches already a lot but i can’t let it work :frowning:

you can use “milkshape” … a md3 is a 3D-Model(-file) … and mdc is just the compressed version of a md3-file … sry for the crappy english

Ah thx, and how can you open/uncompress an mdc?

you dont need to uncompress … just import the file in milkshape … notice you cant create/export a new mdc … you will just get a md3 (its also working with q3engine) … maybe you have to change parts of a script/shader to md3 (dont know exactly what you wanna edit)

I can’t open mdc in milkshape, even if i change the extention in md3 (so you can open it anyway)

Press File from the top menu, then Import -> RTCW MDC… or RTCW MDC model…

This works correctly for me :slight_smile:

for me too :wink: … seems he’s trying to “open” and not “import” the model
