hi all i’m new here and also new in modding,
I have 3ds max 2009 and I dont know how to create MD3 files as it appears that the software
can only save files in max format, any suggestion?

Check if 3ds max has somewhere plug-ins for md3 exporting. I am sure there should be some out there.

im not at home atm so i cant take a look … you have to export your model / not save file
… but iirc new versions of 3DS MAX doesnt support MD3/MDS files anymore (last supported version = 6 iirc)

but you can simply export your model as an .obj so you can import it into Milkshape or another application for MD3’s (just take a look for free 3D-programs supporting MD3 support)

I figured how to do it using nepherno’s MD3 compiler, exporting from 3ds max as 3DS and changing to MD3,
thanks anyway though.

You can also use gmax, is pretty same like 3 ds max and is exporting md3
