Maximum texture size

Hi,

I’ve searched the forum to find out what the maximum texture size is.
But I haven’t found something.

Is it possible to use textures with 1024 pixel?
Or is 512 pixel the maximum?

why don’t you try using a 1024 x 1024 texture and tell us if it works

Hmm, I’ve tested 512 * 512, 1024 * 1024 and 2048 * 2048.
I can use them all.
Only thing is 1 unit = 2 pixel.
So the textures have “half the size” in GTKRadiant / game.
I’ve used very simple textures.
Green / white squares.
And that’s the shader I’ve used (example for the 1024 * 1024):


textures/p7/p7_1024
{
	cull none
	implicitMap -
}

I can’t say if image (texture) size is related to a card’s max texture size or the engine’s but I know the ATI 9800 Pro has a max of 2048x2048 for textures.

As for the Q3 texture size max, I have no clue.
