MAX_VIS_ECEEDED

(Mark.C) #1

i get this error MAX_VISIBLITY_EXCEEDED, does it have something to do with my map having no hint, hint/skip brushes in it ?

Anyone know where/how to use these most effectively/properly ?

Now, Mr hhhmmmmm, that really does not answer my question, it gives me a brief description, nothing about Hint/Skip brushes!

Bah :stuck_out_tongue:

You may get this error when making a very large map, and although the obvious thing to do is to downsize the map you can do other things such as use detail brushes more so the vis data is less complicated so then the vis data wont be so large.

Also dont forget to use the caulk texture. Take into account the way the map is structurally made, it might not of given the error because the map is huge, but because its been made poorly in that you can see too much on screen at once and the view of whats on screen at once hasn’t been taken into account well enough.

Hint and skip brushes will not help. As Hmmmmmm posted, the problem probably has more to do with too many (maybe all) of your brushes being structural and therefore being calculated in your vis table

i have made quite a few brushes detail, it is not ALL structual…if i select brushes that are structual, and then right click, and make detail do they become detail, or do i have to remake whatever i want to be detail ?

(Ifurita) #7

they become detail. a good way to see what is structural and what is detail, is to filter detail off

(Mark.C) #8

how do i do that ??
