I’m not so sure about FORCING new players to play on level 10 and below servers… this is due to a couple of reasons.
- I often attempt to get a friend to try out the game, and since I’m level 30+, it means we won’t be able to play together until he becomes level 10 or 11.
Some people don’t even play long enough to reach that level… which means I may never end up playing with that friend before they quit.
It might even force me to make a new steam account so that I can play with that friend as the new account would start at level 1.
- While the game does have hackers, they do on occasion actually get banned. This means that this person will have no choice but to make a new account to play the game again. They will then be forced into level 10 and below servers with legitimate players and basically KILL the player base.
There is a very short time to make a good impression on a person before they ultimately decide they like you, or they don’t like you.
The higher percentage of cheaters would then fall into the lower levels (assuming the anti cheat is currently catching the majority of people cheating). This means that new players would have increased chances in playing with a cheater, and causing their game experience to be bad, causing a bad impression.
Its fine to brainstorm changes, but when implementing a new feature, you must think of every way that would first affect other players, and the people who look to abuse/exploit based off of those changes.
