if I remember right you have too many t-junctions in your map, had that problem as well, our eskorte-map had about 28000 brushes and that led to that error. I think ydnar said all that would help would be to remake big parts of your brushwork as ase-models

can I use ASE models in my map O_o ??

I make ASE model and when I try to load it I see:

(MuffinMan) #5

you can - here’s a tutorial: http://www.wolfproject.net/modules.php?name=Tutorials&tut=ASE_models

I can’t do it :blah:

  1. I make caulk box and use hollow,
  2. Then I put some brushes into this box,
  3. I put info_player_deadmatch.
  4. I compile my map.
  5. I run q3map2 in dos:

q3map2.exe -convert -fs_basepath "C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory" -game et -v "c:\something.bsp"

Ok! I have something.ase on HDD.
6. I try to load ASE model in radiant and I see (look up for image)

Where is the error ??

try compiling the map with -notjunc. If you don’t get the max_edge_lines error anymore it means that you need to redo some of your brush work because you’re getting too many splits due to t-junctions.
Too see your ase model in radiant follow these steps:
1)select model
2)press N
3)select the model key and remove C:/Program Files/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/etmain from the path in the Value field.

ok

can I have my ase model in any directory ??

now I have:

Key: model
Value: c:\something.ase

(The Wanderer) #9

your value should be something like /model/something.ase or model/moredirectories/something.ase
