soo been sat in matchmaking for over 5 min right now and I can clearly see games with slots available in the server lists… are we now being restricted to our own regions? This will really impact many of our abilities to play… not to mention the fact the I often go on servers to test stuff solo that I can no longer do??? Anyway of giving us a way around this?

The server browser will never be removed, but atm the matchmaking needs testing, hence the change.
We should probably start a matchmaking feedback thread with comments and questions such as these.
