Matchmaking Issues

(MissMurder) #1

Hello all,

We have been getting intermittent reports of Matchmaking not working and are actively investigating. Any and all info is helpful. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and thank you for the patience.

I just completed a match wasnt awarded my 10k xp and my 1500 coins >.<

(Chirs) #3

Had that myself. Had a mix of things. Started with missing daily mission, then the servers started disappearing from the browser list and reappearing, then unable to connect errors which mentioned internet connection errors when my internet access was fine.

Someone mentioned there was a patch tonight? This was this about 2 hours ago so I don’t know if I hit problems because of that.

Restarted the game and matchmaking started working again, and daily missions appeared, but they weren’t updating (e.g. I had the daily for playing Proxy in rotation and played as her for an entire game and it didn’t register).

This might be completely unrelated but I notice that running the tutorial mode and switching to another map, the game decided to swap out my Kira and Fletcher for Fragger and Proxy.

On the plus side, the jump on Victoria from the car to the pipe and through the back finally clicked for me tonight.

Same, completed match was not giving XP or coin. I am unable to get… wait Missions just showed up.

Get into a queue with my buddy, get to 8/10 ready people, and then it dies and throws us back into the queue. It’s frustrating because we have been trying all day and it has only worked for us TWICE. Throughout the whole day, only TWICE. It starts kicking us out randomly or just gives us the ready up message four times in a row and then dies. It literally flashes “Decline/Accept” and then goes away and puts us back into queue. What is up with this?

(Ravanik) #6

Update… game crashed… still no xp & coin on last mission.

(Ravanik) #7

Update… game connected, running normal. Now, if I get some XP and cash. We will see.

Loading of missions and server list takes a long time. After ending a game, didn’t get credit for achievments going towards missions such as win or xp (third tab after the end of the game stays blank). Money rewards stick to 0 credits although the balance does increase when inbetween games.

I havnt had any issues with not getting paid but i have noticed something, If you dont have a full 5 man team there is a possibility that the server preference is instead based on the random player put on your team.

Last night i played 4 competitive matches with 3 other players, every time we only had AUS servers selected but 3 of the 4 matches put us on EU server which gave us 350+ ping making it impossible to play at all ad forcing us to sit and wait for 10 or more minutes unable to do anything, currently how we are experiencing things right now is that Winning a comp match is based on nothing more than if we are lucky enough to get out server preference, can you please force the match maker to only put players on the server they have selected, otherwise you have Europeans vs Australians and if its a AUS server Aussies win, if its a EU server Europeans win besides skill or tactics used.

Also could you please implement a filter for the quickmatch option? I’m getting foam on my mouth every time i get connected to a server with 350+ ping (everyone knows that this is unplayable).

i’d say give everybody a compensation of 30,000 credits <3

IS IT SO HARD TO SELECT THE CORRECT SERVER FOR THE CORRESPONDING QUEUE??? WHY ARE 10 EU PLAYERS THROWN ONTO AN ASIAN SERVER IN COMPETITIVE (!!!) MATCHMAKING???

FIX THIS SHIT!

I wonder why you pixelated the names? Maybe everyone just has terrible internet and it has nothing to do with the server? But look at it this way: at least you were all playing with the same disadvantage/advantage. Imagine one player with 20ping. He/she would go on a rampage…

(agreeablePizza) #15

So they won’t ban us for speaking up.
We all got top notch internet connections (200 - 1000 Mbit depending on the player). It clearly said “connecting to ASIA 5v5 server” or something.

Why would they ban you for speaking up? They might ban you for being abusive, but not for reporting a bug in an Open Beta game. If they banned people for reporting bugs and suggesting fixes this game would already be dead…

Also, It is very possible that they were low on servers and took what was available…

(Lumi) #17

Agreed, the banning issue sounds very unlikely. And how can you know about everyone’s internet speed? Your story seems fishy. Plus having a high internet speed is not directly related with ping. Distance to server is what influences ping the most. So in the case where you went to an asian server the high ping would make sense, but at least for the fletcher update, quick launch wouldn’t place you in a server for which you have higher than 100 ping. Many timmes have I already been asked by the game tu use the server browser because of that.

Just seems like someone entered the asian server through the server browser and everyone else joined their friends… But then again, only SD knows what’s going on in the background.

@satisfyingCove This is related to competitive matchmaking, not quick join. This means that they were waiting in a region specific queue and were put in a server outside of the region they had selected.

This is definitely an issue, but it is most likely related to lack of available servers.

(Lumi) #19

@Ardez Ok, that makes sense. Most likely not enough servers then…

(SkaM) #20

Decided I’ll give it a go to see if I can encounter any mm issues, on two occasions I got an error message of not having any servers available, once the connection timed out (checked local conn logs, internet was fine on my end) and on one occasion 2 players didn’t/couldn’t connect. On the bright side, it only takes a couple of seconds to find players (in EU) even on non-standard playing times like late in the evening or night, just lack of servers is all.
