Match balancing

(grimPositron) #1

So today I played like 13 matches and guess what they were all unbalanced, it’s not a surprise for me cause for me it’s usual, the chances of me entering a fun and balanced Mathews are 0.0000001. Sd pls do something, I want to enjoy playing dirty bomb, not get fed up and rage quit

This is an issue they are aware of and are working on implementing things such as auto balancing, casual amtchmaking, and I believe max level 10 rooms so that new players can play with new players.

My advice for now is to practice. If you play against players who are not as skilled as you, you get to train your aim. If you play against players who are more skilled than you, you get to train your critical thinking and dodging. Even though it’s a free FPS, you gotta be able to think and predict not only what your enemies are doing, but what your allies are doing and how you will respond to their actions.

Aiming is more of a learned skill. You’re gonna have a rough time at first, but the more you play, the better you get. Take it from me. I’ve been playing FPS games since I was 4, lol.

Ok thanks
But one person can’t just defeat the hole enemy team

(LifeupOmega) #4

Can’t they? Happens a lot.

Just practice until you can do that too.

Just practice with higher lvls cause … if you play against those players your game skill will increase … i agree that being alone and trying to defend is little tough still trust me these unbalanced games will make you a tough beast one day !!

Wrong in some cases, a level 60+ player is the whole reason this Underground match only took 3 minutes, very bad game. I was on their team by the way, nobody had any chance to even do anything really.

For a better picture, they had like 7800 points at the end of the match, everyone else maybe had 1000 at the best.

I find this happens a lot when both sides are filled with people who can’t read objective markers or even move from first within 5 minutes. I don’t know how it takes players 2+ minutes to even reach the bottom of the escalators.

They just stayed in a horrible position to defend. On the top of the escalator for some reason.

In the wise words of SirSwag(2.03-2.25), ‘Just hose down every motherfucker trying to spawn camp your team even after the 5th shuffle vote, sometimes you just need to become your own shuffle vote and show those cheeky shits that you mean business, again you can never rely on your team for anything else but to be another thing for the enemy team to shoot at. Just pick up your team and carry them to victory like a fucking boss’

One person can carry a whole team in DB in pubs. A couple of decent people who have proper synergy can also do the same thing. Your teams might have evenly skilled players but they might not have evenly matched synergy with the classes. So the team that has a medic and slayer class is going to beat the team full of skyhammer’s and Vassili’s.

SD is putting in a queue system for pubs where you can queue with 5 of your friends for 6v6 only matches. These will also use a skill rating system for matchmaking. It will solve some problems but teams who refuse to run proper classes (no engineer on EV maps) are still going to get stomped. Nothing will ever be “balanced” whether we’re talking about a pub or a game full of pros…stomps happen. They happen in every other game and also sports too.

@Cam you should play on -10 server , its ez to obliberate clueless scrubs.

Cant wait for the improved matchmaking , stomping or bein stomped is not fun

(RobLovesNa) #14

Honestly the problem is highly skilled players and 1st time FPS players are lumped together. It cant be that hard to restrict players with low ELO ratings to novice servers and restrict normal/higher ELO players to other servers.

(Amerika) #15

That’s pretty much what the new system is going to try and do. Currently it relies on novice players to be smart about where they play. That is getting removed from the game with the queue system.

Community servers will hopefully be released soon after and then people can still choose to go to servers that cater to certain skill levels, friends of competitive use. So both of those features should fix a lot of initial balance issues…but nothing will ever truly be 100% balanced.
