Marrakech Streets - By Night

Well, I got inspired to make my own edit of Marrakech Streets 2, but I didn’t want to severly change the entire gameplay mechanic.
First and foremost, the most noticable thing is that it is now played during night and as such the entire atmosphere is different. =)

Other changes include that I have made the tank indestructible, which means that the allies just need to escort it and build the bridge. The axis have no other way to delay it than by making sure the allies do not get near it.
This has proved to be a great success among the players on my own clans server.

There has been added an entire new route for the allies to take. When the town gates are blown, there is also created a hole in the nearby wall that exposes a route that goes around the allied CP, all the way to the health and ammo kit next to the backdoor. A few others things have been added aswell, but those are all just minor things.

why that?

The allies have a hard time just stealing the objectives, don’t need to make it harder for them with all the arty spamming axis, that just makes it impossible :slight_smile:

Sounds like good improvements to me - will have a look.
We are running the original et_mor on our server- will consider to switch to this one.

the name of the map is et_mor2_night :stuck_out_tongue:
Will have to try playing yours to see if its even necessary to make it into a night version =)

Well it is a half-night theme… if you played RTCW you know what I mean so this effect is not a good idea (it can be used well on the “small area” maps like Goldrush).

My version comes to the public soon, I concentrated on making this more OBJ like and for public usage. Hope it will become playable due to many experiments :smiley:

Have you fixed the visible areas with caulk? It’s really bad like some other bugs in the map.

Yep, The most obvious areas have been caulked, like right behind the town wall etc.
I havn’t played RTCW so I dont quite know what you mean. Most of the players on my clans server agree that it is a nice and fresh improvement.

  • tank at the beginning got 0 hp but is moving

  • missing texture here

  • locked icon instead of tnt

    only when i point over the door i can see tnt icon:

  • too bright in the rooms with orange color

  • and other thing as said Igloo: this is not a night map, but storm like with clouds. It reminds goldrush, but u added too much light due to the “night” mode which is not a night tbh

  • u can remove tank shader as Igloo said (it costs 1,5 mb) so u will keep the map small

  • the name of pk3 should contains beta ;p

i like:

  • new routines
  • idea
  • some nice addons like palms and other things

So i would suggest to improve map or wait for Igloo better version :smiley: (cant wait ^^)

p.s i tested it only 10 minutes or smth to spot those bugs :>

I don’t know why everyone got the source… funny. Making an official release with bugs - lol :smiley: You could make one but working release instead of playing with betas.

Dont know if you have played Marrakesh Streets 2 before, but that is exactly the way its supposed to be.
Axis players are able to open that door, that is why you see the lock. An allied covop in disguise can go through.

    I am not quite sure why or how, but I think you might have a too high gamma setting, or there is trouble with you monitor. Some of my clanmates have said the same thing, while others thing its not too bright.

How is it not a night map? o.o
Because there are no stars? Thats just silly, nighttime means that it is supposed to be night, not dark. There are different kinds of “darkness” and every “night” is not the same. It can be stormy during night, it can be raining during night, it can be snowing during night. The clouds can have certain colors and hues during night… this is just nitpicking. (I saw the pictures for comparrison)

Didnt know this, but why did DC9 even add the tank shader and have a “remap shader” in the first place?

the name doesnt fit the header @ top right menu while loading

Dunno, we will see, but et_mor3 is making by someone other. Igloo thinks about: et_mor_pro,

Well, apparantly it can still move :stuck_out_tongue:

I dont understand what the real “problem” here is. The TNT icon shows because the allies can blow up the door.
The “locked door” icon shows because the door is locked, a door which the axis can go through and the allied cov-ops can open if they are in disguise.

This is a case of taste and you cannot satisfy everyone.

Your wrong. Lighting should always be quite optimal in the map. If it’s much darker/brighter players will have to change some graphic commands to see through the map correctly. You have got the compiling commands from DC9 so what’s the problem? :slight_smile:
