Marked spawnzone on command map/limbo map

Hello
I want to create marked spawnzones on my server. First i decided to change command maps like this

and put them on server. I came across sth like this

which is the idead of MAD community. Commands map i made abouve takes like 70 kb max so if id like to make such command maps for whole campaigne then the pk3 wont be that big. My question is whether it is hard to add this marked spawns the way MAD did? And how many kbs can this take for one map. I dont have any knowledge of map making but i am a quick lerner.

Edited: I forgot to say that MADs got goddamn good idead about that.

Mad did not make it look like that in-game. They simply took a screenshot, and overcoloured the areas manually in a photo program, and uploaded it to their site to explain to their players where the protected areas are.

In order to make something like that in-game, you would need to make new textures/shaders, decompile the maps, edit the floor brushes in the areas you wish and re-compile. This would mean players would need to re-download the map, simply to have those sk-zones visible.

You could have a different system though, that is easier to manage, like something my clan is using.
Our anti-sk system works, by extending the spawnshield to include a certain area on the map in 3 dimensions, or ‘boxes’. As long as you are inside that area, you cannot be damaged. You lose your spawnshield as soon as you exit the protected area OR as soon as you damage someone. When you damage someone, you can be killed, which I believe is fair since that means that people won’t just be hiding in the spawnzone.

eagels 3 ways has spawn protection at the end, i think trigger_push?
And UJE_01 VIP has just some protecdted aereas on the commandmap for no airstrikes, but painting is enough i think, maybe with some clip or so :slight_smile:

Ech, this is what i was afraid of…that players would need to download whole map again :confused: Pity because MADs screens look really promising but somehow i knew that it was Photoshops job.

I know what you mean Rebel with eagels…trigger_push…can this be done as extra pk3 for map or you have edit the whole map (and then players will need to download whole map again)?

Edited: Avocs idea is kinda promising also but isnt that lua script btw? I tried that script but it seems that it is not compatible with noquarter, which is the mod i use.

with etpro scripting, i think you can create a trigger_push, am i right?
