Mark Your Calendars: Brink Releasing in May

(H0RSE) #81

No that pic reminds me of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. Tina Turna deserves her own special level of hell for that movie.

I like that movie.

facepalm

Congrats on the release date. Are you guys still in crunch mode double-checking everything just to make sure the DVD doesn’t spontaneously combust?

I haven’t seen any preorder packs in Canada yet, any info on if and when this may be available on the retail level?

(Nail) #84

no packs, but Future Shop, Best Buy and Gamestop have preorders available, Gamestop is $6 more
i am so hyped for the realease and i really hope there is a collectors edition because i am preaty sure that i will buy it.
if i don’t i will “borrow” my buddies free stuff
:stroggbanana:
What about those who showed their devotion and fandom and have been buying it on Steam since September?

(-Badger-) #86

GUAHHH! NO! not May 17th. Nooooooooooooooo!

DNF on May 3rd. and LA NOIRE on the 17th as well. My brain my explode from Gaming Greatness. I dont know if I will be able to handle Brink on top of those in that 2 week period.

In Northern Hemisphere first day of summer is the summer solstice. So yeah, June 21 = first day of summer.

Master Blaster?

(Jess Alon) #88

OK, I have two questions. I heard rumors of a possible animated series. Can anyone at SD comment on that? AND when’s the DEMO RELEASE?

(Nail) #89

I beg to differ, solstice is midsummer, it’s the longest day

(Ajax's Spear) #90

First day of summer is June 21st, same day as the solstice. 5 seconds of Googling would have avoided this.

Moving on.

(BioSnark) #91

Orly? It actually varies depending on what system you go by and where you are… and not just north or south hemisphere.

Here the summer soltice actually falls outside the first third of summer?

(tokamak) #93

That’s horribly cliché.

Tina Turner was hardly the worst part of the film, everything was going along smoothly till them darn kids showed their annoying faces, then the film turned into family adventure film or some crap, still for all its faults it was OK film.

EDIT, I now have the Barter Town theme in my head now, thanks
I think the box art is a bit disappointing. Looks like something someone would do quick in Photoshop and it really doesn’t give any indication as to what Brink is. And I hate that ugly blue color.

I think something like would have been better - http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/news/brinkmural.jpg
Definitely, they wouldnt go wrong with a box art cover like that. All they could do is take out the middle section and have the characters ascending vertically up the box, with ‘Brink’ in the centre.

Someone who knows nothing about the quality of the game is not gonna make a spontaneous buy of something that has a graphic that looks like its been done by a PS noob.

(tokamak) #96

that looks like its been done by a PS noob.

Whaha, nice.

(BMXer) #97

Awesome! This leaves PLENTY of time for SD/id/zen to properly organize an official Quakecon 2011 Brink tournament!

(Feelgood) #98

Just out of curiousity, do they have the exact same artist doing all of your releases? I mean they are the same pose, pretty much exactly, different games, but it looks the same. Just they are different games. Same weapon angle, everything… weird.

Glad to see there is FINALLY a release date though. Thank you.

I have it on good word that this dialogue comes straight from a Brink cut-scene*:

“Who run Bartertown?”

“You KNOW who!”

“Say!”

“Splash Damage runs Bartertown…”

“Say LOUDER!”

“SPLASH DAMAGE RUNS BARTERTOWN!”

*or perhaps it’s just from my imagination
