mapping tools

hey,

right now db has a serious lack of maps. why arent there any mapping tools avaliable and allowing server admins to add those maps. (reward only reduced credits when playing those)
i think there are enough people out there, not giving a shit about those credits when they can play on custom servers (like we did back in et:qw about the ranked server)
could also be used to make some cash: “Steam DLC needed for clients to connect to custom servers”. ~5€ wont hurt.

They don’t plan on making a SDK until the game leaves Beta. It would take too much resources too put people on developing an SDK. Definitely likely to happen tho.

Lack of SDK could also leave the game almost dead when it’s out of the door.

Considering how community based Dirty Bomb is, definitely expect a SDK (And possible Workshop) in the future.

I’ve asked about an map SDK/tools multiple times and they ALWAYS think I’m talking about a full game SDK. Making a map SDK wouldn’t take much time at all and could be released way ahead of a full SDK that would allow workshop integration. All that is needed is their map assets, any additional tools they use that aren’t typical UE3 stuff and then update the game to allow us run custom maps locally like we can already do with the existing maps.

So hopefully this happens as there are a lot of talented people in DB that could be making some awesome maps already.
