Mapping Resource Site

Ive just about finished mapping for ET… now to the point where i want to put together something of a resource site.

What would you goto a site to find? I know i want to include all of my prefabs (with images) as available downloads… but do you want tutorials? A place where you can post your maps? Get help with mapping. Alot of this is covered by this site… but im wondering if a better organized site would be worth the time to make.

Let me know your thoughts… also anyhow who wants to help is welcome to… a community site is only as strong as the community.

Good idea d3coy. I wanted on my site to make forum but after release my 1 public map. But Now i cant mapping and anything now. My old PC is still freezing and crushing - not enough memory - RAM ( AMD 850, 256 RAM, 64 mb video card ) I will wonder if anyone here have worst machine than I, probably Yes.
So therefor I cannot finished terrain on map, easygen was crushing when I loaded textures.
But good News next week have New top PC. Maybe I can help with modeling models in gmax, 3ds max, Milkshape- can make some videotutorials. ( Maybe you are remember on me - I post sometime in August map project jungle - I have other plans and of course I finish this map, but with New PC )

And I think it should be good idea to make some basic videotutorials on GTK Radiant ( People who 1 start mapping can learn fast and without frustration )

Edit : and you should probably include forum for special detailed questions, it will look bad to ask very detailed questions here on splashdamage

Link to other sides, Tutorials, Resourses (prefabs, textures, .map files and others), nice forums, Support and lots of other mappers (:))

just some of the things i can think of right now.

Yes prefabs,video tuts.
Tuts ,forum,contact ?:stuck_out_tongue:
And programs needed etc.
And like pictures what is in every model(so ppl dont have to select them to look what they are if you know what i mean )

Screenshots of all models, sprites etc…

I created a few a while back just as a reminder as to which ones were missing textures or shaders.

Soudns good… im not to good on video making… but i plan to have tutorials with sample maps and scripts. Prefabs, models (though I cant make them) .map files… all of my map files will be available… even maps i never finished.
Biggest thing is somewhere that you can get an answer when you need it.

Anyhow… still putting it together. more soon.

you know what would be something, if someone made a youtube channel with video tuts showing total noobs how to radiant, then someone could post the account in the stickies

Ive got the site up right now… not really any content… and probably wont be much till next week. Im going out of town to Las Vegas this weekend to get married and wont do anything to the site till i get back.

Anyhow you guys can post in the forums and start submitting news and links as well… and as soon as I can get to it ill start getting the prefabs and such added.
