Mapping Question

(Funker_joe) #1

Hello, I’m completely new to mapping with the Quake 3 engine. In the past, I’ve only messed around with UT and Quake 2 mapping… I remember in both editors I used QuArk and some other UTED or something, they both had 3-view modes, and a 3D mode view all at the same time. Is there any way to set the ET editor to do that?

Yes there is, and it’s probably the most used interface…

set it like this (in gtk radiant 1.4, might be the same in other versions but i dont know)

Go to ‘Edit - Preferences’
Then choose Layout under Interface

There, you see 4 little (pictures of) windows with a choice button underneath, choose the 3rd window.

Press OK and restart GTK radiant

If you are used to Quark:
As far as I remember Quark now supports W:ET.

It seems that it supports Return to Castle Wolfenstein, and other games on the Q3 engine, but not specifically ET… do you think it will work for it still?

EDIT:

Now that I downloaded and installed QuArk, I think you’re right about it supporting ET. Thanks.
