Mapping Project: The Battle Of Crete

Is there a good texture to put as dirty grass or something like a road? Can you guys tell me? Thanks! :slight_smile:

I will mostly like a road texture

Hey guys, for some reason when I tried to open my .map today it said 0 brushes 0 entities with nothing at all while the filesize of the file is 200+ KB, so to rework I need to decompile it, and I found out their sizes are similar, so that means the data are still in the .map file. How can I recover it?

Thanks!

EDIT: I just opened the file using notepad, and I found out the data are still there. How can I read them? Radiant can read other mapfiles but not that, it just seems empty to the editor.

Help? Oh, also, proof of something being inside the file:

// entity 0
{
"classname" "worldspawn"
// brush 0

Best answer ever.

Nice try being ironic. Now can you tell me why Radiant doesn’t read my map file?

(Emilios1310) #26

Also, before I saved my map I remember it having a weird error. I don’t remember what the error was, though.

(Cambodunum) #27

I could take a look at the mapfile - if you still need help.

I guess it’s OK, but now I need to fix most surfaces from the converted map, and put some entities back (lights), big pain…

(Emilios1310) #29

I want to convert a box to an MD3. How do I do that? I mean I want to connect a set of brushes to an MD3. How can I do that?

Thanks !

~Emile

(UJERebel) #30

With C’s Model Tool. Import .map, save as md3

(Mateos) #31

When I had troubles with .map to .ase nobody suggested this -

But the imported .map seems to be empty in C tool, there’s nothing appearing…

Edit:
As ASE seems fine in C, but not textured; Shader/Texture part seem fine…

Edit 2:
I didn’t care how it appears in C and exported it as MD3. Looks fine. Just it still has 6 faces instead of the 4 I made in Gtk… Something in .map to .bsp args…

(Emilios1310) #32

Where can I find that model tool? Thanks! (Sorry for being too lazy to do a Google search :|)

(Mateos) #33

I’m lazy too to do it. But:

I think it’s the one :slight_smile:

(Emilios1310) #34

Hey, I tried making a box. But the texture didn’t turn out as I wanted it.

See this pic:
Left is the model without the ModelTool and right is after the conversion to MD3.

Can you help me make it right? Thanks!
~Emile

(UJERebel) #35

Wild guess: make the map 2x times bigger…

Or make the box big enough so you dont need to scale texture

(Emilios1310) #36

I had made the box to it’s natural size in the first try but that was the result. Any suggestions?

~Thanks!
Emile

(UJERebel) #37

I dont have radiant anymore on this pc, or any pc here. Could you send me the map with box

Btw: did you read in the model tool readme: Converting to MD3 From MAP

Thank you

(Emilios1310) #38

Hmmm it still doesn’t work, help anyone? :slight_smile:

Hey again!

I want to ask something, if I caulk around my map (make the map boundaries caulked) will I be able to call airstrikes?
Is this the right way to see my skybox?

Please answer!

Emile
