Mapping Problem!

Ello…
I had a half year break with Et trickjump and with mapping…
About 2 weeks ago i decided to come back and map again.
All is working good but when i want to test my map ingame,
It disconnects and says: No shader map.

Help pls :confused:

Strange.
Can’t remember to read a thread about that error message.

Did you have a look in the console?
Is this the only error message?

did you remember to type sv_pure 0?

perhaps you are using a faulty shader.

I think Avoc is right…
But how to change a shader?
When you want to teamviewer or just explain on xfire , msn or icq add these:

Shaders are just in scripts/shaders.
But does it say what shader is faulty or something like that?

Nope, i just want to test my map , typing sv_pure0 & devmap ‘name’ & after some secs it stops loading and error message: No shader Map… : '(

sv_pure 1 it must be. Not 0.

It’s hard but the most easy way would be make a clean install for the mapping>

Well for one, don’t forget we’re trying to help you out
And second: the console doesn’t mention an error, that’s why Kamikazee asked you to point out the problem in the console.

if you have custom shaders for your map, are included into shaderlist.txt?

edit: but what clearly is obvious is that your map stops when it comes to initializing shaders. so…there are 2 possibilities.

  1. you have created a faulty shader
  2. you have a faulty shader in your install

so make sure a couple of things.

  1. start and test your map in a totally clean install of wolfenstein:et
  2. compile your map with a totally new shaderlist, that means you wont use any shaders, but helps to encircle the problem. just to go sure, but it is i am 80% sure one of your shaders.
    2.1. so i really dont know how advanced you are, but i guess you are at least so far to know how to handle your shaderlist. it must look like this if you compile:
abc test[\CODE]

so make sure a couple of things:

  1. to exclude 1 you simply have to take out every shader you entered in your shaderlist.txt, so that it dont compile with any of your (custom) shaders
  2. simply play your map in a clean install caus it could be that youve downloaded a faulty shader and are now having it somewhere in a .pk3 (unlikely but possible)
