mapping help (beginner)

hi all here :slight_smile:

i just have begun to to make my map with GTK Radian 1.5.0 , so far its going good but now i dl like to crate something like a lift/evelator
i dont how the right functions is called, and i also dont know hot it works. so my question is can somehelp give some example or better a link to a howto ?

as you can see onto the picture , i just have three buttons, when u push it then the lift/evelator should move to one of the door.

here is a picture what exactly i mean

There’s an elevator prefab of Wezelkrozum. (use the search button next time, it’ll save you time and the effort of creating new topics)

thanks for the prefab …i tried them under the tcetest mod but isnt working for the tcetest mod :frowning:

so any way id really like to know for what i have to search cause i dont know how the function name what that can do , show in the picture above, or after which kind… cause i am just a biginner so far

2nd: what you are trying is best done with so called script_movers

2 tutorials on elevators: (1st one is “basic” 2nd is really advanced)
the tutorials are for rtcw, but the change to w:et isn’t that big, so you should be able create them in w:et/tc:e

hello again :slight_smile:

i tried some prefabs and some tutorials but allways i get this

devmode-> G_Script_GetEventIndex(), unknown event: activate

if i start the map into the devmode and also its not working if i try to activate.

i only got working a moving brush, but this is so far i know just a one step system, i mean its not really a elevator cause it wont hold onto the second floor if you have three. but pls correect me if i am wrong.

can this error just special to the tcetest mod be ? i did not tried them into the normal ET.

nope

I did do an elevator with 3 levels and 3 parted doors some time ago in tcetest and it worked like a charm.

I got a .map with only an elevator lying somewhere around on one of my harddrives (I did it for another tcetest mapper :P) when I find it I’ll link it here.

yeah please can you share it please i really like to learn from it , cause i at the moment i dont have really succes with the elevator /lift …:frowning:
