Mapping Collaboration.. Need help from a seasoned map author

Hi, i’m looking for somebody who can help me finish my map off, i’m a first-time Radiant mapper and what i’ve done so far is all archtiecture, i really would appreciate a collaboration with someone who knows the scripting well so i can get this damn thing out of the door and into the wild!

If anybody is interested please use my email address andy@madin.plus.com it might be worth it because i’m more than happy to give credit to whoever can help.

Trust me when I say the map is of a high quality, anyone that shows interest will be given a link to download and see for themselves.

Anyway, thank you for your time and I hope to hear from someone who can probably help with the scripting in about 15 mins so the majority of the work is already done.

why dont you post some screens, people might be more willing to help you then (plus we all like looking at screens well i do anyway). also if no one volunteers to do your scripting for you then dont give up. if you post your scripting problems here im sure lots of people will chip in with advice to help you.

I love screenshots too! :slight_smile: Who knows, they may inspire a mapper who wouldn’t reply otherwise.

Hmm, if I’ve got you right the map is ready except the script.
TBH this could be a good chance to learn scripting as well.
Just have a look on Ifuritas page.
Theres a brilliant Tutorial for beginners (btw there are also some other tutorials).
Then you should have a look at sock’s extended LDR:

Here in the forum are also other helpful links where you can reach several tutorials.
And if you still have questions then post these question here.

Anothere alternative would be to tell here which kind of script you need.

Good points, many thanks for your replies… tomorrow night as soon as i get chance (back from work) ill post pics of the problems i’m having, explain what works/doesn’t and im also going to post the map itself as i don’t think screens do justice… check back soon and thanks again!

I wouldn’t worry about other people stealing your ideas, especially if it sounds like you have a map nearly done. I’ve shared ideas from every map I’ve made and so far, no one has ripped them off, which either means I have crappy ideas, or no one’s really interested in stealing them

ok, 2mb download, have a look, allies spawn, they should then take the hotel spawn area and blow the hotel doors (exactly same as old city and wall in oasis)… this isn’t working well, the spawn should be automatically set to axis but it doesn’t work and the spawn should lock to allied after the door is blown… allies can also build an assault ramp to the rear, but i dont know how to do construcible brushes, it needs to be blown by dyn or covops (a la battery)… then there’s two tanks to the north which arent in yet, they should be dynable like the guns in oasis…

the map is about 90% complete for as far as architecture goes, just clips, textures and a couple of bug fixes to sort…

please, let me know if it’s worth finishing.

I’ll look at the pk3 tonight, but I’m tapped out as far as project go
