Mapmodels in GTK Not showing?!

(stevoboi) #1

Well, i right clicked my grid, went to misc/misc_models then went to mapmodels/trees_sd/tree_a.md3

Added in the mapmodel and it’s just a little white box with x axis, y axis lines showing… Any ideas?

(PS i’ve been using EasyGen to put in my map models, but would like to start using gtkradiant that way I don’t have to redo my terrain everytime i import the .map file…)

:confused::confused:

Hey,

Did you check if the radiant console gives you any error message when you load the model?

And which radiant version do you use?

[Edit] Maybe you can also try to compile your map to see if the model shows up ingame.

Greetings,

Max1

check you actually have the model ins etmain/models/… since they aren’t in pak0 so you need to get them yourself.

Hmmmmm… Any ideas?
Stealth: Yes, the etmain/models/mapobjects is in my wolf folder
Max1 : No they do not load in-game.

EDIT: This is the entity info path for the barrel when i press N with the little white box selected
C:/Program Files/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/etmain/models/mapobjects/barrel_sd/barrel.md3
The path seems fine… And it’s pointing int he right folder so… I’m stumped.

I use GTKRadiant 1.3.8

(Magic) #5

Change the path to : models/mapobjects/barrel_sd/barrel.md3 - and it will work i belive.

(stevoboi) #6

Yep worked… Thanks! Now how could i change this in some settings to where I dont have to edit every mapobject path through the entity window?

(Magic) #7

Open “C:\Program Files\GtkRadiant-1.4\games\et.game” in a text editor
and change the enginepath to =“C:\Programfiler\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/”

it ends like this i think for you now - “C:\Programfiler\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\ /”

(stevoboi) #8

Awesome, thanks Magic… Got it working now ^^

You were right about the C:\Programfiles\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\ /
Once again, thank you! I’ll pass on what I learned if anyone has a similar problem.

btw, u just made my mapping 10x faster, lol

(Qualmi) #9

oh jea. that really was a big problem for me also. some hours were lost this way as i found it on a thread via search. garf

(stevoboi) #10

Welp, now we all know how to fix it thanks to Magic and Max1
These forums rock… I look no where else for help (Unless it’s a tutorial walk-through)… Fast responses, and fairly well-detailed answers to problems

same thing happens if you either not properly install radiant for the wolfenstein install you are mapping in or sometimes even if you dont unpack the pak0.pk3
