map to 3dmax

i have seen some tutorials to convert bsp to ase, however my friend has limited skills and im trying to help him with his map. i figured i could convert some of his terrain to md3s in max to have models in the clipped areas and maybe make a heightmap that has a bottom, instead of like the carpet shape he made in fate. he would thus avoid having unnecesary rooms

i wonder then how do i put a map file into 3dmax, is there a way to do this without compiling to bsp and turning it into ase (that max needs a plugin to read anyway; seems so buggy)

I had a tool for this once but it never seemed to work… can’t find it anymore.

Hey Flippy if you have a plugin for ase reading in #dsMAX pleas post it… or does 3dsMax read these normally… sorry if it is a n3wb question… :stuck_out_tongue:
